If the next breed of Camaros go the same way and start using turbo-charged v6's will you abandon the Camaro as, in your eyes, it's no longer a proper muscle car?
I will move to a Vette, Ford or Dodge if they stop using the V8's in the Camaro's, a move like that by GM would be the 2nd death of the Camaro.

Is there room for a twin turbo V6? Sure. Should it replace the V8? No.

And as for the Ford GT...its going to fail just like the last one did....because it will be priced too high and not worth a crap compared to its competitors....
You need to check around and see what the Ford GT's are selling for today, your comment proves you have no clue what your talking about.

[QUOTE=Muscle Car Memories;8262756]You need to check around and see what the Ford GT's are selling for today, your comment proves you have no clue what your talking about.[/QUOTEGot this from Autoweek
Ford executives wouldn’t bite on the question when asked by multiple outlets, including Autoweek, in Detroit. However, they did point to the car’s competitive set as being reasonably indicative of its eventual MSRP. The set includes Lamborghini’s Huracan (approximately $237,000), Ferrari’s 458 Speciale (approximately $298,000) and McLaren’s 650S (approximately $265,000) -- so it’s easy to speculate that the GT will come in right around the $250,000 mark. - See more at: http://autoweek.com/article/detroit-....8pkBxMlt.dpuf

The argument between FI V6s and V8s sounds a lot like the stuff people said about fuel injection being implemented or for that matter the idea of a "horseless carriage". Progress comes in many forms, and power is going to be more important to most of you than how many cylinders you have under the hood. Eventually, you'll find that out when you try it. The vast majority of people I've met who have this "V8 only" mentality haven't cracked open their hood for anything other than an oil change. It's disappointing for a group who claims to defend the superior way of doing things. At one point, people not that different said they'll never buy fuel injection. Someday, those choices might be taken away from you. Accept the fast car on virtue of being fast.

This was my 1st ever Camaro purchase, and it was a V8 or nothing. Whatever kind of engine they want to put in future Camaros doesn't matter to me, as long as one of them is a V8.

I'd say you're not listening to most V8 fans then. Why make a more complicated engine when you already have a simpler one that performs as well as, if not better, than a smaller engine with forced induction?

To listen to most TT boosters, adding turbos to something not only increases horsepower and torque, but gas mileage all at the same time!

Let's meet in the middle and mandate all cars must have V8's with twin turbos (for teh ecology!).

See sig. That's just me though. Other than a select few cars that have a soft spot in my heart, CRX, my criteria is almost always:

RWD
V8
Preferably Manual
Made by GM

No hate on the V6 Camaro guys though

It wouldn't bother me a bit. I am nore interested in performance. The Camaro was never a muscle car and those that were had big blocks (for the purists). We should be more worried about pathetic performance like we saw in the late 70s and 80s than how many cylinders the engines they have.

I've never owned a Camaro that wasn't a V8.

I'm all about getting the most HP for the dollar. If they offered a 450hp/480tq TTV6 engine option in 2014, that's what I would have bought. I love how a forced induction car comes to life! I think the "lag" issue has pretty much been worked out on modern turbos.
