Anyone else upset that the Z/28 will cost more than a ZL1? I know it has the LS7 and Carbon brakes but come on. It's a stripped down car. The purpose of this car should be so that we don't have to buy a brand new SS off the lot and strip it to be a track car.
No radio or A/C and no S/C and you're gonna charge more than a ZL1. I love Chevy and I love my Camaro, but that just feels wrong and insulting. |

There is an enormous amount of engineering in the all new Z/28. The Z/28 TEAM built a road course animal. The wheel and tire selection alone cost a fortune. Not for the incredibly light weight wheels or for the street legal 'slicks', but because they had to crash test the Z/28 at the new lower ride height. The new wiring harness with wires deleted for various deleted components had to be validated. The aero package alone cost a fortune in wind tunnel work and design. This is not a stripped down car like those of the past. This is a purpose built car that is the perfect daily drive for the hard core enthusiast and a seriously bad axx track car. Consider it a bargain compared to a Z06 Carbon. |

Congrats OP on being chosen to be there. I was excited just to be able to view it live but can only imagine how exciting it was for you to be there. Thanks for sharing some it with us. Great pics. I am a bit jealous. Enjoy that permagrin!
Yeah, I am liking some of it some better and am sure it will all look better in person. I do appreciate all the engineering and performance they contain. I did not like the first pics I saw of the 5th gen front end either. I thought it looked angry (which is still better than the Mustang which I still think just looks sad in the face). I know I will not be getting either of them and am glad I have mine. I know this is a "refresh" and that the 6th gen is on the way. I just can't help feeling a bit sad that my original 5th gen is now the "old style" but I still love it the best.

2014 camaro
Is it just me or is the 2014 merely a refresh with ZL-1 styling cues. And why can't they design a dash that isn't BUTT-UGLY???

Thanks for the report. Great pics. What an exciting time that must have been. When the Camaro SS was on stage and the center turntable was still empty, I knew something else was coming. How great that it was the Z/28.

Nice thanks for sharing. Everyone keep hating on the tail lights. Don't they resemble the 2nd gen in a way?
