When i was first looking for a camaro, i was just looking for a V6. Then i found my SS for a steal at a toyota dealership. If you come across an SS for a good price, take advantage.

Im also going on an assumption and taking a risk that my pay will increase over that time, as it should but theres no guarantee. I hate the new 2014 look, so gotta act now!

You are nowhere near 350rwhp, and without FI it's not possible with a V6. With a CAI, headers, cats and tune you'll be lucky to hit 300rwhp, probably closer to 280rwhp.

If you can afford it go for it. Be smart with your decisions my friend. In REAL WORLD people really don't care about having a V6 or V8. Don't worry about the people in this forum lol

I'm not trying to say bad things about V6 Camaros, but frankly I've never seen the point in modding them like that and that is really just me. That being stated, I mean your goal should kind of be a paid off car, life is so much better getting out from under a monthly payment rather than making it bigger or extending it.

If it was a little different and I had an SS and was thinking of getting a ZL1, but the SS was nearly paid off, frankly I'd pay it off, then continue to make the payments into my own savings account until I had enough to do what I wanted at a later date. But, I'm not 21 anymore, and now I can see a little further down the road than I used to be able to.

Call and get a quote and throw them some specific VIN's. I was a day or so from buying a 2LT/RS before I called for a quote on an SS for what I thought was going to be way too much and Geico's quote from a 2lt/RS to a 1SS was only 7$ more a month. I am 20 and live in San Diego so I was amazed with the quote.

But thinking of the ss i think of the price of them staggered sized tires and bot being able to rotate and the expensive brembo brakes, although id do all the work myself.
That SS badge has history and meaning but the sound of a v8 theres nothing like it. But that would also cost me about 10k more adding onto my loan.
I'd say if you can afford the upgrade, go for it. You won't regret it. I personally had nothing but bad luck with my V6 so upgrading to the SS was no brainer for me. To me, it was well worth the extra money rather than investing into a V6.

Should I just get an SS? Im 21 years old, and still owe $12,500 on my car now after taking out a 6 year loan, same loan id be taking out on an ss with a way lower interest rate. your thoughts? thank you!
would like to hear a take on both thoughts!
I would say suck it up, pay off your car and then go in and trade it in on an SS model. By then, there will be ALOT of 1SS and 2SS cars on the used lot with relatively low miles and better prices. If you buy new and want to mod the car you just loose the warrantee, that did not stop me in any way, factory warrantee lasted for the first 3000 miles and then was pretty much gone.

Can tell you that performance increases are ADDICTIVE!!! Its much easier to GROW with the SS then try to make the V6 into something it really is not.

I would say pay off your current ride, use it to turn it in on a new or used SS. Right off the lot your at 426 hp and not much worse milage.

Keep your record clean and your insurance will drop off fast, especially once you hit 25.

just get an ss for the 10+ grands your gonna spend to make it fast u might as well use it as a down and den put like a few mods in the ss and you will be way faster than that challenger and most heavy modded v6s... plus u can't go wrong wit a v8 in a car thats suppose to have power and torque and that v8 sound... insurance can't be too much more
