FOr me, simple math...I owned a 255hp car for 9 years, now I have 400, an increase of 58%, so I need a 628 hp car next. Yes, thats the plan, simple as that.
To me, the math doesn't justify it. With the small limited range on full electric, and the time it takes to charge (plus that cost)...the mpg the volt gets is good, but not for many miles.

If you don't have to drive that far anyway, your existing car isn't costing you that much as it is, or if you have to drive each day beyond full electric, you'll never make up the cost of the new Volt over your lifetime, based on what the volt mpg is compared to the mileage of your existing car.

The Volt is a pretty dang cool car. It's not a hot rod, but it's cool in many other ways. And getting a free pass through traffic every day has GOT to buy you some happiness. Congrats, and good luck...

Props to sticking with the bow-tie... aside from that, I guarantee you're not walking away from this classic American muscle car without getting a pit in your stomach. You're going to miss that Camaro like your first High School sweetheart. Good luck to you on your endeavors though bro!!

For 2 years I have driven with the smug confidence that I have the meanest car on the road. For some odd reason when you drive the camaro (now in its 3rd year) you really still special special. I still have people come up to me and compliment me and have vallet's get happy. I personally think short of a Lambo the camaro is the only car that you could pull up with at a 5 star Hotel and not feel awkward and out of place between all the 50K+ cars.

Anyways just wanted to get it off my chest. Maybe once I can afford 2 cars I will have another Camaro...
I really have a strong feeling I will be one of those guys that 15 years later will regret that I ever sold off my camaro and will be spending big bucks to buy a "vintage" Summit White 2010 with IOM stripes and Interior with the RS package.

He he he he....hee said Volt. But at least its a Chevy.

I sense alot of negative feedback of the op getting volt. There is nothing wrong with a volt its still a chevy and its very advanced at that I believe the Op is making a smart and sensible decision for himself. Im sure at some point he will own another camaro again.

Best of luck to you but I'm shocked. What kind of car bug bit you a lightening bug? Have buyer remorse early and keep Whitey.

In 15 years a 2010 camaro will worth about 1500 bucks unless it's a zl1.

This here is the voice of reason. My 600RR gets 45mpg and is a CRAP TON faster than a Volt.

Crazy about the sticker for the volt. It's a nice looking car but not enough for me to trade in my SS.
