new 2012 steering wheel bowtie emblem
big thanks to Roger at emblempros for making my custom bowtie. i removed the stock emblem and sent it to him so he could get the measurements. the base is onyx with a raised acrylic bowtie and yellow outline.

How did you remove the gold one and how does the new one attach?

i used a plastic trim tool because i was going to try and save it and paint it. there are 8 tabs on the back that go through the plastic on the airbag cover. when i got half of the bowtie off, it bent and then split. i sent Roger the bowtie and he took the measurements and sent me this one. it attatches with 3m tape, i used some adhesion promoter and then stuck it on.

I would be concerned about anything just stuck on with 3m tape on an airbag cover. The force and flexing if the cover could dislodge it if not well attached and I would hate to see the damage it could cause to your face.
There is a good reason the factory does not use 3M tape on airbag cover emblems.

That looks sweet. If I had a 12' or above I would def look into doing something like that.
