I didn't even know it was possible to option a 1LE out that high, lol. Find a different dealer that has a 1SS 1LE for under $40k. You'll be able to find them if you look hard enough. There's one local to me at $37k, but it's about 3000 miles from you, lol.

Throw on an SS bumper and plastidip your hood and spoiler black. Then getchoo a nice set of replica ZL1 wheels and you're almost there! You won't have the performance of a 1LE, but a fool off the streets can't tell the difference. Just my $.02
1) The 1LE is more than looks, even for off-track use (e.g 3:91 gearing).
2) You contradict yourself by saying he won't have 1LE performance.

My suggestion would be, drive an SS and a 1LE. That's the only way you'll know if it's worth it to you. I'd also suggest checking out the SEMA thread if you haven't already, there's some nice new packages that might be worth waiting for.

Now I want the 1LE but the dealer only has 2014 for $47,000 and they quoted me at $1000 a month. Kinda out my range. Is their any way I could find a used one closer to $39,000 with a lower payment? Also, is it worth trade in, or should I just wait for gen 6? I know you only live once, but I don't want screwed into financial ruins on this trade either.

Any advice/opinions help.
For 47k or less there are much better very low mileage options out there. 2012-13 ZL1, 2012 GT500 cars that do everything well and not simply taking a turn. Also I would imagine they would hold their values much better as well. If you want a 1LE there are several low mileage cars for sale in the market place in this forum for low 30s that have been sitting there for awhile, I am sure the advertised price is negotiable.

I ordered a 2014 2SS 1LE with RS, NPP, and Recaros and my sticker price is right at $46k out the door price is just above $42k. Unless that car has every single option available then it is a rip off. Find a dealer that is willing to order one and give you the best price possible.

Keep looking. I looked for months. Ended up with a 250 mile used 13 2SS 1LE NPP Supercharged, Headers for $38K. It was 7 hours away but I couldn't be happier.

Unhappy

Okay so I'm kind of a novice. If I go the private dealer route, that means I have to come up with the $9000 difference between the amount I sell my car for and my current loan right? Then I need a down for the new car?

Private seller or dealer.

When you sell your car you will get a check for the amount you sell it for less the amount you owe the bank. If you sell it for $25 but owe $20, you will walk away with $5. You would then need to get a new loan for the 1LE. Sounds like you need to talk to a banker if you decide to go this route.

It is much easier and less stressful to buy from a dealer, but also much more expensive.

I got my 2014 1SS 1LE for $38,200. They are out there just need to find them. I love my 1LE and you are right you dont have to be a "track guy" to appreciate the pure performance of the 1LE.

Depreciation on both 2013 gt500 and zl1 is greater than 1le.

There were just more made. You will get the lessor loss of the 3 with the 1le,

And your statement "not just taking a turn" is ignorant. The car does many things well. In fact it does everything a ss does just better.

I bought my 2SS/RS 1LE the end of July ( yes its a 2013) for $37,600. Go search the 1LE section, someone posted not too long ago about the 2013 1LE's he has found. There arent many, but still out there that you can get for a good price.

Exactly 1LE is more than 'tracking' (cracks me up how a few people only see it that way), it is NOT the reason I bought it.
It is the only Camaro with the right options for the right price...just the looks alone make the car, let alone all the goodies (gears, recaros, wheels/tires, hood wrap, color hud, etc etc)
My sticker was $47k (loaded minus sunroof) but got it for $500 under invoice + 7year extended warranty and wheel/tire insurance, which is where a dealership is nice too -warranties.
Good luck in your search - you will not be unhappy with a 1LE!!!!
Rock on!

Yeah it's nuts. I make fun of the ZL1 guys who say they pay $800 a month, it's ridiculous.

True, but hopefully that one life is a long, successful, and healthy one. Slow down. You are in your current dilemma because you lacked the patience to think it all through and save for what you really wanted - DON'T DO IT AGAIN and DON"T bury yourself in debt you can't afford!

And always remember - "Family First". Assuming you are fairly young, you have plenty of years ahead of you for big-boy-toys. Right now you need to take care of the basics and establish a financially secure home/family life.
