Superchargers

Was reading about the Eforce supercharger, just curious what kind of risk you put at adding these to you SS? Do they make everything more vulnerable with more power? would you need updated suspension to handle the increase in performance ? anyone gonna put one in?

Motor internals are at risk of catastrophic failure (too much boost = go bang bang boom boom...KAPLOWEE) and I would think they may wear faster than normal.

doubt suspension would need anything, but not sure what power and torque SS drivetrain can handle. ADM and others are doing SC upgrades. If it were me, i'd do an LT4 swap - see ADM sponsor here on Camaro6.

BTW, i'm no gearhead so i'm just regurgitating stuff I've read here.

All the info you could possibly want can be found here. This is the F/I (Forced Induction) Forum for Camaro 6.

Edelbrock has a 3yr/36k warranty for their eforce if you use their tune. They claim 580rwhp. It's a pretty good jump but they are a little over 7k on jegs.

Their warranty is a free power train warranty. Covers engine, transmission, and rear end. As long as a ASE certified mechanic installs, and use their canned tune.

GM has provided an amazing strong foundation on which to add performance parts.

Companies like Edelbrock, Magnuson, Whipple, Vortech Paxton SLP have engineers that design OEM quality components and calibrations that are very safe and powerful.

HP per dollar spent is higher than any other mod and will last a lifetime.

Ted.

About which part? It was a suggestion. Nitrous is very safe on a motor if done correctly.

I have to ask how exactly do people with a supercharged car drive?

I WOT any chance I can get, getting on the highway..etc so WOT is seen multiple times a day, could I see an issue? obv the car will not last as long with a SC than if it was NA but I plan to add a SC in the future, but I guess I need to be ready to pay to play hah.

Really comes down to the strength/quality of the pistons in this motor. We do a ton of C7's. In 14/15 piston quality was ok at best. I've been pushing 16's over 650rwhp with no signs of issue's yet.
So 600 could be a very safe setup. More important is the tuning. Now being direct inject you have to adjust injector timing ect to get the best/safest burn going FI. Still a lot of learning for tuners to get on how to get them right.
