Thanks for the info! I'll try plasti-dipping.

I dipped it with 6 coats and it looked great at first, but after a day, it already has scratch on the area below the e-brake and has plenty of dust settled on it. That's one thing I worried about using plasti-dip for interior and sure enough, it's rapidly collecting dust. I gotta say, Plasti-dip is a dust magnet!

I just came back from walmart with a can of satin black spray enamel. I am planning on going with that and see how it goes.

That's interesting, pasti-dip dries like a matte rubber finish... never dipped anything in the interior before, but a set of wheels held up well for a few months before I got tired of the finish. I'll try plasti-dip before anything else... remember that you won't be able to just peel off the enamel coating. I would try one of those plasti-dip gloss top coats before going to a permanent solution.

Has anyone tried one of those spray-on suede products? I sat in a few cars with that stuff professionally done and the result looked and felt great... wonder if a DIY job can come close. I would totally coat the whole dashboard, center console, door trim and some misc trim panels in that stuff.

The last coat of Plasti-dip has to be pretty heavy so it'll lay smooth. If it's a light coat, it ends up looking textured and will definitely collect dust like crazy.

Actually, enamel finish is pretty easy to remove. While I was spray painting it today, I went a little trigger happy and had some drips. I used mineral spirits (can't get regular paint thinner here is CA) to wipe it off and start it again. Finish with enamel is just not comparable to that of plastidip. I have been dipping wheels on my 2011 camaro and my Corvette before this 2016 camaro, and I have to say that it is definitely a great alternative for adding a new color to the wheels, but I find no reason to use it on parts that I can easily remove. I guess that's just my preference.
