I like that you can still engage with the car on these new automatics (A8 or A10), with the manual shifting gate on the shifter.

Anyone used this on the A8? I should go test drive an SS with A8 and see how it works, if you put the shifter in this gate, does it hold gear. I guess it should be the same programming as the paddle shifters, but IDK.

but yes, I'm with the folks that don't understand the "you're not a man unless you drive a stick" mentality. But I totally get that if you have more fun with a manual...then by all means, row away. I think if this current ZL1 didn't yet exist, and I bought a Gen 5, having driven both tranny's, I'd go with manual.

IF I had nothing but open road around me the manual would be the choice for me, probably. Sadly that's not the case. Thankfully the auto is a fantastic choice, rather than just a requirement.
