3.73 and afm

I have a 2011 L99 bolt on (check sig) and I was looking into getting some gears (3.73) I know this will increase the cruising rpm speed is it possible to combat that with keeping afm only in 6th gear or if it is possible to tune afm for only one gear

We have turned AFM for several customers even quite a few dealers in the area. Our results have been that along with a good tune you will not see a drop in mileage, in fact most pick up fuel mileage with the AFM turned off and our tune.

I know the mpg stay the same or better with a good tune mine is currently tune out and at 70mph i get 24 to 25mpg but with the bigger gear (3.73) cruising speed at 70mph will be over 2000rpms and any time cruise just barley over 2000rpm mpg drops to about 19 to 20 I want a little more get up but still want to be reasonable with my mpgs maybe 22 to 23mpg this car is driven every day

This is Perfectly Normal and expected.

Speed Kills MPG more than any other factor.

The Faster you go, the More Gas/Horsepower it takes to push the car through the air.

The RPM Plays a very Small Roll in MPG.

Hope this Helps.

Ted.

No it will not as there is not enough power on 4 cyl mode to run that fast.

In order for AFM to be an advantage you have to run like 55 mph on Flat ground for a very long time.
