intake restriction???

Friend of mines centri powered mustang. Looks like a lot of bends in the intake. That would definitely create some restriction right?

Yep, Definitely but whatever you do has to fit! Don't look like much for options there

I left my fluid mechanics book at home, but, I'm going to guess that, while there are bends and changes in flow area, there won't be an appreciable amount of flow restriction. This is also on the inlet side of the supercharger, so the restriction of the flow path is probably less than the restriction in the air filter. Something about Bernoulli.

Edit: double what Alvin said.

lol. I told him and he didn't think it made much of a difference. Just seems there are better ways tbh.

Here's the OP's image embedded - figured most people don't want to click a link

The Mustang has a tighter engine compartment than the Camaro. And I think the engine is physically bigger (in actual physical size). So the centrifugal blower companies have a bit of a harder time designing their systems. By comparison even the Camaro has some unattractive bends in it on the inlet side. Check out the picture.

Even the discharge side has to move through some bends before it gets to the throttle body. However the blowers themselves are becoming more and more efficient these days. And the hp/tq numbers are still on par with the top mount superchargers from what I've seen.
