I wish I had the funds for it all at once. But next year I’ll get all my port work done. Looking forward to your build numbers!!

After reading some replies to my post here. I’m looking at getting a coolant expansion tank at this time as well. For the money and the fact it is a direct replacement it would be silly to not get one at this point.

After the cost of the car and the parts list with labor, phastek will be getting another order from me sometime today GLADLY

I am only at 710rwhp and 700rwtq right now (doing meth either late next week or early after so will be substantially higher) and I can tell you that traction is a HUGE issue.

I made a left turn at a light last week, a truck went into left lane, a car into right, and I was in the center. The truck started to move into my lane so I just pressed on the pedal to move past, not foot to the floor, just throttle to get out of the way. Rear end IMMEDIATLY stepped out to my left, the rear end had to have come within inches of the truck coming into my lane. There is just so much torque down low so quickly. Happened in the blink of an eye, and to be honest I just got lucky. Transmission didn't downshift, just rolled on and broke loose!

I will probably be switching to a ProCharger at some point in the future to tame the low end down some, my father has an ECS on his 2017 GS and the powerband is very, very usable...

^^^^ This. I am at 706 rwhp and traction is a huge issue, particularly on cold tires. I actually had mine re-tuned to take some of the low end torque away. It was actually a little scary at times. I was merging onto the highway and punched it to pass a car and the rear end kicked out. That will get your attention very quickly. I am trying to decide what tire to add. It is a tough decision. Hard to find tires that are a good combination for street/track/cornering and come in the right size.

It will for sure have to be something I will need to get used to. I mainly mawmaw around when I’m daily driving but on those spirited nights sometimes I may flat foot it for a little run.

I’m looking into tires as well but haven’t made a decision yet. Still wondering what my best options are at this point

Mickey Thompson ET Street Rs or S/S or M&H Racemaster will solve most of your issues. However they're not drivable in the rain and not going to handle corners well. Also you'll want to stay away from 150+ MPH driving.

What about like some other's are saying in this thread? Would the R888R not be better suitable? Not a 100% cure, but significantly better?

I looked at them. They only make two sizes in 20" 285/35/20 and 315/30/20. They do not make either of our stock sizes 285/30/20 or 305/30/20

Incorrect. They do make a 285/30/20 in R888R as as a 315/30/20 which is the perfect size for the 5th and 6th ZL1. Several members running them in those sizing. You can see them on their website, toyotires.com.

R888Rs will hook decently well, but no 20" tire will dead hook in 1st or probably 2nd with 700+ RWHP on a 305/315. An 18 or 17 would be much better off. There's 17" wheels that clear the brakes without having to screw with the fantastic brakes on these cars. An 18 preserves aesthetics a little more than a 17 IMO as I don't really like the super small wheel/tall sidewall look.

I stand corrected on TOYO tire size. I was looking on Tire Rack and they only showed two sizes in 20". TOYO website had the tire sizes you suggested. Will the 315/30/20 fit without rubbing? I've heard of people having to move the wire harness? Thanks!

I too have thought about having it tuned to take a little low end out. I had the nannies on and they saved my rear.... literally. Throttle cut real quick, fast and in a hurry as I was extracting the seat out of my third point of contact.

I will put another set of the stock GY's on the rear so that when it is time to replace all 4 I might go with the r888r's. I am not expecting to dead hook in 1, 2 or 3, but to just make it a little better. Hard to explain how quickly it can break traction right now to someone who has not experienced it, but 700wtq at 2,500rpm can get out of hand fast if you are not paying attention. I went to pass a car on a two lane blacktop on Monday as I was heading to work, it went a bit sideways around 65-70mph. I just rolled out of it a little to pull it back in line and went on. It is entertaining until it's not..
