Advice on demodding car please

Hello everyone. I sold my 2013 2SS Vert and bought a 2013 ZL1 w/800hp! I took a loss when selling the SS because I got a hell of a deal on the ZL1. Because I sold the car to a dealership, they are complaining about the headers and cold air intake on the car.

So, I am picking up the SS on Thursday and I'm going to demod the car. I didn't do too much to the car, but I did have it tuned to run with the headers and cold air intake. When getting the tune, the guy never turned off the O2 sensor so my check engine light stays on. Can someone please confirm when the demod is complete that there will not be any problems I would run into? Is there anything I should know before doing the demod?

Also, I will be selling the parts that I remove. If people are interested in purchasing the parts, please let me know.

Kooks LT headers w/high-flow cats
CAI cold air intake
Vitesse Throttle Controller

Thank you.

You'll have to have the stock tune put back on. Other than that I don't think you should have any problems. Hit me up with a price on headers and cai.

Also if they already bought it it's there fault for not making it a condition of sale.

After you de-mod, do a battery pull.

I drove a long ways to do the tune and won't have the option to go back for the stock tune. What will the consequences be for running with the tune? Like I said, all I had done was the headers and cold air intake before I did the tune.

After de-modding, what will the battery pull do?

Also, I sold the car to a dealership and they are requiring the headers be taken off and the check engine light not being on. The CEL is on because of the 02 sensor from the headers. the person that tuned the car forgot to disable that.

Well that was to help you get rid of the CEL just in case, but I assumed you were de-tuning it too. In reality, the stock tune should take care of that.

So you are saying that you cannot get the stock tune back on? That may cause issues for the person that buys it from the dealer. I am assuming the dealer doesn't know it is also tuned, correct?

I just want to be sure after I demod it that the car will run fine with the headers and cai removed. the car would stay tuned because it was dyno tuned a ways away. I'm assuming the CEL will stay off after putting the stock manifolds on and clearing the code but I wanted to be sure there weren't going to be any surprises.

I guess de-mod, pull the battery, and see what happens. Worse case, get it re-tuned when done.

But I'm guessing you will need to re-tune to stock to fix it to run properly.

how is it they sold you a modified ZL1 but have a problem taking your modded SS??

Worse case is a big worse case. I can't go to a local tune shop around here unfortunately. I do not own the car anymore as I have already sold it to the dealership. I have to be careful what I am doing. Thank you for the heads up though.

Yea, I am wondering about a car tuned for headers and CAI running stock parts. Wouldn't that leave the new owner with a rich condition?

What you really don't want is a new CEL to come on. Some of the guys that do their own tunes in here can probably give you more accurate answers.

If it's a chevy dealer shouldn't they be able to flash it back to a stock tune. If you already sold them the car why is it your problem. They're the ones making money hand over fist.
