*FIXED* For any of you still having this issue, I went into my rear fuse box and pulled the display fuse for 5-10 minutes. After putting the display fuse back in I haven't had any issues.

I've had this issue as well! Took it to the dealership four times until they finally said there is nothing they can do to fix it. I had to call GM myself and handle it. GM said there is nothing that they can currently do. They are trying to fix the issue and I basically have to keep calling the employee on my case to get updated. They think it's the IOS software on my iPhone, but I disconnect my Bluetooth when it begins to happen and it doesn't stop, so that's unlikely the issue. I hear there is a guy who's really good with chevys and lemon law! I'll send his info through a message. I haven't contacted him yet but it's worth a try.

Same issue. Pulling the fuse didn't help. I even took a video of it to show to the service writer at my dealer. They reflashed the radio and so far no recurrence!

My car was dropped off at the dealer yesterday morning for another reason but this was also brought up. We will see what they say, it happened for like 3 days straight last week all at random times (remote start or not) and it'll last anywhere from 5 minites to 20. Although, it hasn't happened to me in about 3 days.

Hey guys, I am a lurker but I just created an account specifically for this thread.

I have this exact same issue. My MyTouch screen will regularly go haywire and cycle through my radio and navigation screens at random. It has even, on occasion, called people in my phones history. Also the touch screen will completely lock up during or after this happens. I have a 2016 1SS

I had the computer reflashed recently during some warranty work (they had to completely replace my rear end due to groaning/grinding, sound familiar?). However the screen problem came back a few days later.

Here are some things I have been able to determine:

-It usually only happens on cold mornings (less than 50 degrees), especially if I run the heater. However turning off the heater doesn't make it stop.

-It seems to happen more often when I am charging my phone via the USB port. This may be more of a coincidence though, as I am frequently charging my phone. (I have an android if it matters)

-It seems more frequent when I am using Bluetooth.

Not sure if this helps. But I figured any data we can put out there may be useful. This is extremely distracting and dangerous (particularly when you need navigation) so we need to get this fixed!

I was having this problem intermittently for months. Some trips it worked fine, others the touchscreen was completely unusable because it was taken over by a "phantom".

I followed the advice above and pulled the fuse for a few seconds, replaced it, and it hasn't been an issue since. That was about 3 months ago. Crossing fingers it doesn't return.

First time in 3 years

I had this phantom car control of radio happened this morning. I read this thread searching for a fix but just turned off radio and continued my drive. Fifteen minutes later I turned back on and phantom control stopped. Is there a fix for this, warranty ends next month.

So mine did the random radio stations, menu screen, switch between XM, FM, and AM. It wouldn't respond to touch though. Took it in while under warranty and it required a flash update. The service rep said there was a known issue or tsb for it.

I have the same problem, but pulling the negative terminal or the fuse help for a few days. I cannot update the software, is there a way to purchase a new touchscreen?

Could it be pressure on the plastic trim that is transferring to the screen?

I think this is not possible, because the problem gets worse when it is hot and the screen itself gets very hot. In that case the plastic should be soft.

I had this problem last winter, and it always acted up after a cold snap. I pulled the fuse (in the trunk) for a few minutes to reset it and haven't had a problem since.

Had this exact issue in my previous car ( 2016 LT ). It would work fine for a day and a half, then be completely unusable for 3 or 4 straight days of it having a phantom hand make it go haywire....then it would be fine for a day or so, then....................

Dealer replaced the screen under warranty. Good fix; stopped the problem.
