Car Audio Systems???

So far, the only thing ive heard is a optional Bose system. Any facts on the base system, speakers, subwoofer, smart phone connectivity?????? From pictures, it appears that to go with a aftermarket head unit, a special kit AGAIN will have to be developed. Also appears that anyone who has the ambient lighting around the stock audio system head unit, will possibly lose that with a aftermarket kit.

With all the features integrated into the infotainment unit, I would be hesitant to replace it.

Currently I have a Infiniti G37 that has Bose sound system. Bose with 11 speakers is good enough for me! anymore and I'll be in heaven hehe

This would be awesome, but I would bet that it doesn't. If you want to add a sub, you will most likely either have to replace the head unit or use a line out converter.

It's really not a subwoofer. It's a 5" woofer... As far as subwoofers go it's probably WORST on the market lol.

Well if it is 10 speakers + "sub", then there must be a line-level out unless the head unit is powering the sub, but it has an amplifier so I doubt it is.

Fair point, but I doubt that it has pre-outs for RCA hookups, so you would still have to do some kind of modification to do an aftermarket installation.

Also, wouldn't the line level out come after the amp, and you would want to install your new amp before that point? I don't know much about factory integration, so you may be right.

Can't tell if serious??

If serious, I hope you don't mean compared to aftermarket.

Yeah, it's very simple if it has individual wires that go to the amplifier, all you would have to do is cut the wire that transmits the sub signal to the amplifier and solder it. Hopefully it isn't some weird bundled connector with a specific connection that goes from the head unit to the amplifier.

Line level is a non-amplified signal, so it is before the amp. Pre-outs are line-level. After the amplifier it is "speaker level".

Does anyone know where the amplifier is in the current 2LT/2SS cars? Is it under the front passenger seat?

Everyone loves to knock the BA system in the 5th gen...and I agree its not the best thing out there by anymeans, but I enjoyed mine. Some songs the bass felt just alright and on others it was good (not compared to an aftermarket sub of course). But I felt the loudness, mids and highs were PLENTY good for me.

If this bose system is better in all regard (or just has better bass) I will be very happy.
