Straightpipes
Hey everyone,
I haven't had much time on here to post or anything in a little bit but I have a few buddies who say straight pipes will not pass DMV inspection but some of my other friends say they will. Can someone help me out because I am coming closer to getting my Camaro and still haven't decided which exhaust I want I have only narrowed my list down. Thanks |

I guess it depends on where you live. If you mean deleting the cats and mufflers it prolly won't pass a true dmv inspection, the cats are a federal requirement.

"Some of your other friends" are delusional. Don't do it.

You need some backpressure to make power. Removing all of it by going to straight pipes will probably cost you a few HP.

Removing smog stuff may cause problems with warranty and dealer too. I agree also with unkillsam zero back pressure may cause tuning problems and power loss on low end. And the gov't gets shitty when you remove smog equipment if they catch you.
