That's what I'm trying to figure out. When I can get some favorable DA then my next steps are to line out the tune and ideal shift points to see where that gets me. As Brett said, I run a 28.7 tire to help offset the steep gearing. I do have to shift into 6th at my current 6500 redline, but when my lazy ass get around to changing it to 6800 then I may be able to run out 5th gear to 124mph. Also, I have been talking to Fraxum and we are going to try swapping manifolds for research purposes (he has ported MSD). I blow through that MSD dead zone so quickly that it may benefit this setup greatly...we shall see.

I was only somewhat serious about running a 11.06, no one near the top settles on just being 3rd 4th or 5th.
Good luck with it but IMO a 2.77 with a 26" has worked very well with bolt on cars from what we have seen. I'd like to see where you end up with.

Noticed that, hope it works out. IMO too much gear even for a 30" it may like a 3.27 or so. One way to find out and good to see someone try new things. I'm in the middle of doing an LT1 with a TH400 and some 4.56s

The ported MSD I did for Mark should help this situation. But from my testing the MSD didn't run any faster with my shift points pumped up. I basically ended up where I was with my ported stocker. It could help you get across the finish line in 5th still under power though.

If you want, give me a heads up when you are heading to the track again. You can establish a hot spot on your phone and send me the run file with the slip. I can shoot you back changes to make. I just did it last week with a GS I put a ported IM/TB on and we dropped .4 in the 1/8 and .5 in the 1/4. We gained 4mph in the 1/8 but the 1/4 clocks weren't working correctly. Just an offer.

I would be a fool to say no. I'll reach out when I get to that point.

I see Snowblind is @ 32-33 degrees timing.... How much E content would I need to run that much safely? I'm @ 28 degrees now and I regularly see 72%- 80% E85....

Tonight at Milan is Rockys pit stop track rental half price. It's usually 100 but 50 tonight. Bit more than a normal test night but thinking maybe less crowd and good prep.

Do you know anything about those rentals ? I think anyone can go...

Norwalk is 2.5 hr drive for me. Milan is right at an hour. I've heard Norwalk is a great track. Some guys were taunting and yelling at the track crew about Norwalk being so much better and they weren't coming back the last time I was at Milan and couldn't hook. My go to track has been 131. 1.5 hr drive and I've never seen bad prep. Great place
You've piqued my interest! A bit shorter drive for me, too. On the two test and tune Friday's at Norwalk, I was only able to get in two runs.

Are the track rentals usually like a test and tune? I'm pretty new at this, even though I am well seasoned in life.

I will investigate and potentially change my plans for tonight.

Bill

I made a call, and since I haven't been there before, I probably wouldn't fit in to any of the classes.

Update
I went Tuesday and made a few passes. Changes; I pared back the timing to 28 degrees from last weeks 32. I upped the rev limiter to 6800. Tweaked driver demand map tables. Experimented with shift points again.
I believe I'm getting closer to ideal shift points (for my setup) but as you can see, my latest changes made the 1-2 short shift and the 3-4 could have carried a little longer too. No KR or TB closing and lamda is consistent at .855, Brett recommended leaning it out a little and I'll work on some other tweaks too. I'm heading back tomm to test again.

Yeah boyyy.

Lean it out to 12.8-13.0 and pop another degree or two into it. I run 31-32* down low and tapper that back to 29-30* or so by 5,200 and hold that till red line. Get the 1/2 to 6,400 and the rest to 6,500 and you will be rolling. You can experiment with 100rpm less per gear and possibly running the 5/6 to 6,600 if it actually helps the top end.

You are rolling my friend.

Man that is flying for those mods...really making it hard for me to pull the trigger on a blower when these cars run so well with E85 and a few bolt-oins.
