Anyone else hide your Camaro key's?
So i was out washing my car and a neighbor said my next door neighbor got their car (Toyota Corolla) stolen. I have lived here for about 12 years and no issues. I told my neighbor when i dont drive Camaro i hide my key's in the house. It has taken my whole life to earn this car and i love her and could never afford to replace her. Obviously our cars draw attention, and if anyone broke into the house their not going to find my car key's so,I was just wondering if anyone else hid their key's? In fact when i leave my Tacoma out of the garage i even take my remote out. I dont live in a bad area, but obviously anything can happen anywhere.
I mean that car is gorgeous

I doubt their car got stolen by breaking into the house and stealing the keys...

Leaving your keys in the car is a dumb mistake.

Yes I rarely drive my car so I hide the keys to it.

Yeah when I go for the weekend they are either in the gun safe or are with me. Same goes with my GTR I don't take that key everywhere like I do the Camaro (house key attached) so it's always locked up. Same with my girlfriend's Aprilia key when it's in storage in my garage, her key is locked up.

If I'm going out of town I lock it with my ar15.. Not really worried about someone stealing it. But scared of my girl driving it, and she's terrified of the ar15 so she doesn't

Remember, they don't even need the keys to steal it. If they really want it, they will take it. Enjoy it while you can... nothing is guaranteed. Think good thoughts!

Since my Camaro is my DD (and only car), I never thought about that, but it's a good idea. Of course there are people with skills to steal one without a key, but you're still improving your odds by hiding the keys.
If you're talking about the garage door remote, that's also a good practice. In fact, you should hide it somewhere in the car whenever you go somewhere as well. Here's a common scenario: someone sees your car in a parking lot, breaks in, and roots around until they find something with your address. They take your garage remote and use it to get into your house and ransack it before you ever get home. They'll usually target sporting events so they know how long you'll be gone. Or they just slash your tires, knowing that it will be hours before you're done with the police report and a tow truck.
