That looks identical to the ZL1 video they showed.

I expect the 1SS 1LE to cost around that of a no options 2SS car.....

I am going to guess more than the ZL1. Maybe a lot more. The ATS-V I looked at was $89.900. And it didn't have the pdr. Had everything else though including the matte white paint option ($10k). Got a bud that bought one and at one of his Audi events (he instructs) they let the instructors out for a bit in the rain. Another instructor in an R10 came up to him later and wanted to see what he was driving as the guy couldn't keep up with him. There is a lot more than HP that is needed to make a great track car. The ATS-V only has 464 hp and is plenty fast. I expect the Z28 will beat that number handily. But I am thinking out the door in the $80-90k range. A bit like the Viper ACR.

If I recall, to get approval for the V6 1LE, they had to use parts that already existed in the parts bin.

Based on that, in my fantasy world, for engine choices (using parts form the bin);

LS7 Block, LSA crank, LS7 heads. 387 ci

LS3 block, LS7 crank, LS9 heads. 416 ci

Either of those two with a direct injection/heads set up from the current LT1/LT4. I don't know if there is a rod/piston combo that exists that would work with those combos though.

Come on GM, use that 2.9 billion net profit and make it so! lol

A rear seat delete, carbon fiber wheels, extreme aero, DSSV, E-Diff, Rev-Match, larger tires, optional carbon ceramics, 6 piston 4 piston rear two piece slotted rotors stock. This could easily fit in the Camaro lineup. Just dont forget the basic creature comforts GM

Ok. So Now what?

GM has screwed the Z/28 over. There are so many options from 4cyl's, V6, LTs and 1LEs, V8 SS and 1 LE, ZL1 w/1 LE.....

There is nowhere to slot the Meanest Camaro of them All. Even worse is there is not alot of reason to go after one either. Your needs are met by having so much choice.

There is no Z/28 because Corvette dictated supercharged engines for their performance versions. Camaro is a parts bin car at GM and has to use what they allow it to use.

It's also the second year of production. There is no Z/28 because there is no Z/28. Maybe there won't be one this generation, or maybe it will come out in the last year or two of the 6th gen (like the 2014-2015). Too early to tell.

Camaro got the A10 first, so much for parts bin.

That's the exception and the A10 may not even fit in the C7.

Yes it will. The A10 is packaged in the same space as the A8, on purpose. It'll need a new bellhousing/case for the transaxle mounting, but it'll be fine.

Coincidentally...the M7 found in the Corvette physically does not fit in the tunnel of a Camaro...kind of a shame. Be nice to have a great highway gear...

Give it time, there is a Z/28 in the 6th gen, look for them to start showing spy picks late next summer.
