No... No those are not his only options.

Speak to a lemon law attorney if this is a REAL issue. But dont bother them if youre just being paranoid...

I am not sure if the "lemon law" applies as it has to be related to safety or performance. I could be 100% wrong though and it may vary by State. Also, I think the Dealer has to have at least two or three opportunities to correct it if I recall. Thanks!

The new LT-1 based valve trains do that, I have a 14 Silverado with the 6.2 and it has been doing that from day one. 25K now and it pulls to fuel cut-off 6250rpm all day no worries.
In fact we have had to custom program my trans to shift cause the engine does pull to fuel cut-off.
The car has a plenty enough warranty in case you got a misassembled engine.

I listened to the video also don't hear anything out of the normal! Have you ever owned a direct injection engine before?

Just asking cause there noisy especially on cold start then settle to a ticking noise when warmed up. At least the last one I owned was and it was only a 2.0 engine not 6.2l

Good luck and take it to the dealership Glen's right not much anyone can do from here.

This isn't a great example since I wasn't able to decelerate much. I'll post another video shorty.
I listened to the video as closely as I could and honestly couldn't really hear any ticking. However, I don't hear any ticking inside my car when driving in those rpm ranges or any other rpm range for that matter.

Good luck chasing it down!

Agreed. The 2.0s have weird noises, especially at startup. A lot of tapping, ticking and clock frog like sounds. And a hefty cat warmup, esp with an intake and downpipe.

The ticking is the direct injection.

My Turbo Cobalt was direct injection and noisy as hell, my friend is still driving it at 189,000 miles.

Called a dealer about it.. Within 5 seconds he shut me up and said not only was it normal, but the cadillac is where they discovered the noises from.. It's from the direct injection or whatever... So, that's the cars noise, unfortunately ...

As you mentioned, lemon law is different state-to-state, but two years ago, I had a mustang re-purchased by Ford (it was in arbitration--last step before filing lemon law) because despite months of service they couldn't figure out how to stop the transmission from whining VERY loudly. Not really safety or performance.

...and I stopped buying Fords.
