Met a ford fanatic at the car show today

So I was at a car show today and it was near the end of it and I had my Abarth parked and I was sitting in my folding chair reading a magazine or emagazine on my nook and from behind me I hear hey is that your Fiat and I say yup sure is and he goes on to ask me if I have had any trouble with it yet and I was like no and he was like in the 50's and 60's they were very unreliable cars, I just nodded and then he says u ever look at the fiesta and focus and says those are great cars I had one as a loaner and man it was great a lil car. Then he says he always wanted a mustang and he bought one a 2012 6speed auto no options. Then he was like yea ford didn't need any help or a bailout during the economy crisis and didn't have the whole Gm ignition issues cause ford is the best and whatever. At this point I really want to correct him on a lot of the things he said but since he was a elder gentleman and wasn't being rude just stating what he thought I decided to let him live in his ford bubble cause I doubt anything I was going to say to him was going to get through anyways. Anyone else ever run into these kind of fanatic's that bleed ford blue? Cause that was my first encounter with one, I know people who love ford but they aren't oblivious to everything else.

Focus' until the recent models were junk too. And I seem to remember the Ford Explores flipping over and kill a bunch of people because their tires would just randomly explode, but to each their own..........

Every time my buddy tries to knock on my Camaro... I just compare my 312 hp V6 to his 306 hp V6, then every argument after that is irrelevant, because power. He drive a 2012? Mustang

They were Firestone tires... and FIRESTONE recalled 6.5 MILLION of them... But yes, the Explorer was more prone to rollovers...

And of course you can't turn on the news without hearing about the GM ignition issue...

The highlights...

* A February 25 recall of about 1.37 million vehicles for “ignition switch torque performance”—affecting the 2005-2007 Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5; 2003-2007 Saturn Ion; 2006-2007 Chevrolet HHR; 2006-2007 Pontiac Solstice; and 2007 Saturn Sky.
* A March 28 expanded recall, also for “ignition switch torque performance,” affecting 823,788 vehicles, and the 2008-2011 Chevrolet HHR; 2008-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt; 2008-2010 Pontiac G5; 2008-2010 Pontiac Solstice; and 2008-2010 Saturn Sky.
* An April 9 recall of about 2.19 million vehicles for the broader “ignition cylinder” issue, affecting 2005-2010 Chevy Cobalt; 2006-2010 Chevrolet HHR; 2003-2010 Pontiac G5; 2006-2010 Pontiac Solstice; 2003-2007 Saturn Ion; and 2007-2010 Saturn Sky.

All car companies have their screw ups... we could go back and forth all day...

Ummmm... there is a LOT more to it than simply the PEAK HP numbers! The Mustang has a LOT more "under the curve"... With a tune, gears and axle back I was running mid-13's! Try doing that in your Camaro... Don't believe me, PM rtcat600man... we lined up 7 times and i beat him every time! And he has plenty of mods.. more than I have!

And here is a dyno sheet comparing my 2010 V6 Camaro with a bunch of mods vs my very lightly modded 2014 V6 Mustang...

The BLUE run is my Camaro. The RED run is my Mustang. My Camaro actually made more PEAK HP but the Mustang is FASTER!

Oh I know that there is a lot more than peak HP numbers. There is gearing, curb weight, skill of driver, and the list goes on.

I just like to troll him and say "Hey bro, 6hp.... Yeah that's right"

Same advice applies to any conversation that starts with "I heard on Fox News the other day..."
