Has anyone seen the tire temp read above "WARM"

I have personally seen...

COLD
COOL
NORMAL
WARM

I wonder if there is a HOT or something like it.

Yes there is a "HOT".. saw it at Sebring in July... it had to be about 110 degrees on track!! Very hot day and the car was slip-sliding due to the heat in the tires.

I always assumed the temperature sensing was incorporated into the tire pressure sensors, but I have a set of rims with no sensors and I still get tire temperature readings. And it's not just a single, random reading. I get 'cold' on cold days, 'normal' in moderate temperatures, and 'warm' on the track. I wonder how it's detecting the temperature?

Same here. As a new 1LE owner, I'd love to know how it's reading temps. Change in pressure over time maybe?

I know it only from other cars.
In other cars there is no temperature sensor in the rim.

The temperature is a calculated value from the change in tire pressure.

I guess we have exactly the same process.

Therefore you don't have any values as it is calculated and by this has the possibility to not be totally correct.

From all I have read and on page one of this thread, and from a gm tech friend, Tpms is used to get the temp range. For the 1le it helps with ABS and EDiff settings. From my testing during autocross tire pressure has nothing to do with it. My tires can read warm at 30 psi or 38. Doesn’t matter.

A few posts above yours Whitespeed claimed to be getting duly varying temp readings with no TPMS sensors installed.

Temp isn't a calculation based on pressure. There's an air temp sensor on the TPMS. I attached a screenshot of Cosworth temp/pressure data from when I got a puncture on track as proof; pressure is dropping as temp is still rising.

Interesting. I had no sensors in my race wheels for awhile but wasn’t sure about readings so I put them in to be sure. Mostly to be sure the abs and EDiff was operating properly. Besides I use a gauge and temp gun and know where the tires work best psi wise for autocross.

It's a total mystery, I did some research earlier and also concluded that TPMS sensors were the source of tire temp data...

Yep. Good enough for me. No matter how it reads data I am covered with the tpms’s installed.

I would've happily paid $500 more if we could've gotten a system that reads/logs brake temps and tire temps akin to what a lot of BMW M cars have.

Reviving an old thread rather than start a new one. I know someone else posted on here that they got WARM as a reading on their dashboard. I have never seen anything above NORMAL even after driving for an hour about 70mph.

The manual states that NORMAL means the tires are ready for normal driving (not spirited)
It also says that WARM means that the tires are ready for action and spirted driving. I guess my tires are never ready for cornering and spirited driving even in the summer?

Or does this WARM reading happen only at the track?
