SS 1LE 0-60

So... I just saw that the 6th gen SS 1LE has an advertised 0 to 60 as 4.2 seconds. Is it just me, or is that actually slower then a base SS that is advertised as 4.0 flat? (And I've seen some people claim 3.8 or 3.9) is it just more hardware to handle better on a track that is heavier than a standard SS? Just curious, and I can't seem to be able to find a search term to find an answer.

4.2 is a stick, 4.0( and those 3.8,3.9) is the A8 in the regular SS.

The SS 1LE actually gains .1 of a second 0-60 as the regular SS with the M6 is advertised at 4.3 seconds.

That is a perfect answer. I personally opted for the A8 in mine. It's a daily traffic car. But if I ever get to the point of being able to get 2, I'd go for one of each. Sticks are fun!

Agreed. Only reason why I didn't get the M6 myself with my SS. Mine is a daily driver and could not handle rush hour traffic with a stick. If I could buy 2 cars one as the daily and my 2SS with the M6 as my toy, I would( heck wait for the 2SS 1LE that is coming late '18 MY).

I can totally understand. I would not want to drive my car in traffic every day. Then again I don't want to drive in traffic everyday. Guys at work laugh at me because I'm in such as rush to get to work. Only until I get to my office door do I realize how stupid I am for trying to get there so freakin quick. Kind of off topic but hey that's how describe driving through traffic to work. Have to climb through the gears. QUICKLY!

I've driven a 6 speed in traffic every day for the last 7 years and will continue to do so. The back road/track fun is completely worth it

The M6 V8's also have NLS (no lift shift), which many don't know about. I've seen posts were M6 owners have gotten high 3 second 0-60 runs.

And be highly suspect of any times, the 0-60 timer is susceptible to wheel spin. Better off using the 1/4 mile test (which will give you the 0-60 too) to get a more accurate acceleration test. Not that a high 3 second run is impossible for a M6.

The clutch is very easy in the SS. I don't have any issue with traffic, however my last manual was an 06 WRX with a heavy clutch.

Motor Trend got their SS 1LE to 60 in 4.0 seconds...

They didn't use LC, not sure about NLS.
