Let me be clear. A 6 speed in the SS has me thinking. An 8 speed would have no impact ony lusting for one. A nice add for sure but not necessary.

I would have rather saw GM put a v8 option in the new Impala and call it a day.. until they can really bring something to the table that competes with a Charger or Taurus, stay off the field

Meh. If the Impala were a) RWD or b) AWD with a longitudinal engine, I'd say go for it instead of the SS. As it is though, there's a reason why GM stopped making FWD with tranverse V8s.

Well, there is the perfect drivetrain, AWD/TTV6, out there for the Impala, it just happens to be under the hood of it's big brother the XTS starting next year

I have a curious question we know the price of the SS now and Now all we need is some magazine reviews of the SS how is it that the Corvette gets tested before the SS sedan there has to be some press SS sedan's out there no?

Because Corvette's timeline is earlier than SS.
SS isn't supposed to get here until the end of the year.

I think everyone agrees the actual # of gears isn't the wow factor. The difference the # of gears provides such as mpg and performance is. I am also disappointed at the SS. Nice interior but exterior is EXTREMELY bland. The initial release won't have direct injection. My guess is its just going to be around for a few years and then it will migrate it to the alpha platform where it will get the LT1, 8 speed tranny, etc. I really wanted a 4-door high performance chevy but I'm not paying monthly payments for that thing. That car is a few step backwards. |

Looks good in red (and way better than the silver). Glad to see the black gloss bits make it to the U.S. like it is on the Holden
