You would think that if the REP msg & codes were just caused by pedal sensor to throttle body sensor signal differences caused by the VTC that exceeded sensor difference limitations , then the REP MSG & codes would happen right after the VTC was installed ...not weeks/months later! I think the VTC internal circuit boards become faulty over time (maybe due to over heating?) as being that as soon as cars that are getting REP MSG & codes take out the VTC the problems go away, so it's obvious it's not the car's sensors that have gone bad. |

sent this to VITESSE MOTORSPORTS today have not yet received a response yet..
It looks as if the reduced power CEL is slowly becoming an issue over time to the Camaro especially the v-6 ..i was wondering if you guys have come up the cause or solution to the issue. The VTC is a great device and I will definitely buy it again but must show that you guys have addressed the issue. I know that a problem has been said that it is a loose connection issue and I know for a fact that some of these guys say that it was installed correctly and still have an issue..really like the device let me know what you guys come up with a fix to the problem…

Well...it happened again on the way to work today.
I suspect it has something to do with ambient or operating temperatures. I say this because I realized (after I headed out, before the Reduced Engine Power/CEL) that I didn't let my car properly warm up. The other times were when the ambient temps changed by 20+ degrees from the day prior...which I think happened today as well. I changed back to SP0, shut the car, let it sit 5 minutes, then started back up and drove to work. CEL still on, power feels normal. I believe the CEL should be clear when I start up again after work. If not, it SHOULD clear after the next restart. On an unrelated note, I'll be seeing Mad Max: Fury Road after work

Okay....it happened again today.
My car sat all weekend. I started it up (SP8), let it warm up to coolant 100 degrees, went about 30 feet through my parking lot, and Reduced Power happened again. I pulled over, shut the car, went to SP0, and headed off to work. The CEL was still on, but power was normal. I shut it once to get coffee, and the CEL remained. I suspect it should be off when I get out of work. I'm going to contact Vittese today.

UPDATE: I've been letting my car warm up to 120 degrees before heading out, and have not had any issue since (with it remaining on SP8 at all times).
I'd advise that anyone else having similar issues give this solution a shot.

It doesn't seem like every V6 owner is having this issue, but the few posts I've seen about it here, it's just the V6 owners.

But, they are in communication with me, and the impression I get is that this is not a faulty wiring or failing unit issue, but that I may be correct in that it's an operating temperature/throttle during warm-up issue. Don't quote me as...um...quoting them, but they are working with me.

Ahmed seems like a good guy, I'm sure it'll be sorted out.
I just got mine in, haven't installed it yet. |

I've had a few CEL flashes during winter, all during warmup. But since it became hotter again I've had none and CEL dissappeared after few hundred km's. I did not do anything to solve it, just kept driving till all removed itselve.
Last week I've done 5K miles in 1week on Eurotrip and no issues at all (temps outside from 35°F to 91°F). Did some 140mph+ on german autobahn, driving on 8200foot high mountain roads etc and no problems. Setting always on SP7. Perhaps the CEL in winter is from something else then VTC, but then people without VTC should be reporting CEL issues as well during cold temp warm-up. Anyway, I will not be removing the VTC as it's much fun, and a CEL won't stop me.

So based on positive reviews I installed the VTC 10 days ago and it has been wonderful. Yesterday at some point the CEL lite up. drove home with no other issue and parked the car overnight. 2014 2LT RS
Today after reading some more here I removed the VTC and back to original. Now we go from bad to worse. these are the codes P16A0 ? P0113-intake air temp sensor high voltage P0102 Mass air flow sensor low frequency P00F4 ? P0097 IAT sensor 2 circuit low bank 1 P2127 Acc pedal position sensor 2 low voltage P2122 Acc pedal position sensor 1 low voltage I now have the reduced power, CEL, rough idle with or without VTC connected. what I have done. -disconnected throttle body connecter and checked wires are secure -gave the Mass air flow sensor a wipe with clean micro cloth -removed butterfly assemble and wiped. operated freely but wondered why it was not fully closed. -pulled fuses for ecm & tcm Now it is all back together and the battery is disconnected for overnight any suggestions? |
