Porting does help a great deal in the throttle response.
When I first got mine, I noticed a delay. When I got a ported TB, no more delays!

You can find TB's already ported on ebay from Soler and GPE. Also, I think you can send your stock TB to have them port it for you as well.

I have the GPE Stage 2. The first one I ordered casud me to throw codes like crazy and the car wouldn't start. I opened the throttle body motor and cicuitry casing to confirm my suspicions...it wasn't an OEM unit. I immediately contacted the guy that runs GPE and he sent me out a Stage II ported GM throttle body and it has worked perfectly since.

He offers OEM GM throttle bodys for an upgrade charge, which I would recommend every time. In my opinion that is all he should be selling.

That's kinda crappy he upcharges for the OEM version. I hope Soler doesn't do that since I plan to get one of their ported TB's when my car is paid off soon.
