P-1 Procharged 6th vs Hellcat?
Anyone have any guesses or bets? Thinking P-1 procharger, stage 1 intercooler, and dyno tune with the A8 transmission vs a stock Hellcat. I think it'd be close, but I've seen Hellcats run anywhere from low to high 11s. Looks like most are low 11's on stock tires so that'd put it around procharger territory, right?

You'd dyno 560-580 and with good tires have a solid low 11's. very close. If he has good tires, they have run 10s

Stock cars can run high 11's on stock rubber. A procharged car with decent rubber will pull 10's all day.

Saw two Hellcats this past weekend run 10.80's on drag radials.

Chargers are the faster ones, but if it's also an A8 with tires and a upgraded driveshaft it'll do 10.76x in the right DA and track prep.. not bad for a sedan that weights in 4530lbs +/- w/o driver... They put down 640-670 stock depending on dyno, normal dyno jets they are within that range.

Why a p-1? For that money for such a basic supercharger you could do heads, cam, intake, converter and be in the mid 10s

Some people don't like the idea of cracking into a brand new motor. Plus heads and cam packages that drastically up the power also drastically change the driving characteristics and make the car less civilized. A blower car drives exactly like stock till the hammer is dropped. I'd take a blower over a heads and cam set up all day every day. |
