What is MAX RWHP before needing to build the bottom end of the engine?

After adding super chargers, full exhaust... how high can I go before I need to consider getting forged internals?

A better question might be how many variables effect (your question).

Well I haven't heard any specific numbers but in my opinion 650 rwhp is getting close.

Ok, well. at point of upgrades should I consider getting forged internals?

600whp seems to be the limit for any longevity on stock pistons. A bad tune or fuel limit your odds of survival. If you want to play over 550whp you should have a foged short in the back of your mind.

I've seen stock LS3 running close to 700RWHP with good tune and seen stock LS3 with 423 RWHP blownup with bad tune.

I'd say, stay below 550 RWHP and TQ!

I have 760 hp at the crank and have stock internals. To me it depends on how much you intend to drive it and how hard. One school of thought is to go stock internals and if it comes apart then wait at that time to rebuild with forged. That is my vote.

I would look more at AFR...

anything over 12 is pushing the limits of the stock bottom end...

12.5 and up should have at least rods and pistons, and a fuel pump booster.

FWIW, it does seem that a 12 AFR is right about where you get to 600+ RWHP with the mods mentioned in the OP.

you aren't going to hit 800 RWHP without quality parts... and have it stay together.

Yes....and it depends on the pilot a little too. If you're a ham fisted mullet who's always tearing sheet up, you need to be forged or maybe find another way of getting your jollies (you know who you are). If you aren't hell bent on destruction, and have a slight clue about machinery, I think 650rwhp is doable with a spot on tune. 650 will be a little tough on the rest of the drivetrain though .

Its all in the tune and type of power adder as stock shortblock LS motors have lived at 800RWHP. Without knowing anything about the setup or useage I would say below 550RWHP is moderatly safe.

812.3whp then boom..

alot of people at 600wHP and r just fine.. couple at 730 to 770wHP and r fine
but Id say safety zone between 650 and 700wHP to have engine last awhile

Cant speak for LS3, But we have a few FI LS6 Z06's making 700RW
I have a few LS2's at 575 to 680 RW

None of them broke YET but imo 600RW is pushing it...
