I wouldn't call it "best", but I really like my Cat delete pipe -> Borla resonated mid-pipe-> to Corsa NPP setup. Truly mild to wild exhaust with NO drone. The problem is I wouldn't pay what they want for the Corsa Now. I bought mine before the price hike which was cheaper than you can get the standard Non NPP version now.

That being said, I would probably recommend LT headers -> resonated X pipe -> stock NPP.

The key is to either retain Cats or put Resonators in the mid pipe and most mufflers will sound good imo.

That is very close to the axleback I have, just without the resonators which you can remove later. Also I don't belive that gives it a more aggressive tone than the mufflers already do. I know my video doesn't do it justice, which I mention multiple times on that video, but they are not very different in sound or volume.

I'm running AWE track exhaust, definitely barks when you want it to. My neighbor told me the other day he thought he was at a Nascar track when he heard it start up. You have to hear the exhaust in person in order to get a real feel of what they sound like. No highway drone throughout the entire RPM range either, which is also a plus.

If you are going for an aggressive sound then you can't go wrong with any of AWE's Touring or Track edition exhausts. You can pick between just the Axle back or Cat-Back systems which includes the additional mid-pipes with the exhaust. You won't need a tune for either option with a Manual SS but if you have a Auto then a tune would be required or AFM Valve Simulators if you choose a Cat-back system. AWE's Touring Edition Cat-Back Exhaust with Diamond Black Tips, Resonated is a favorite of mine. The tips will stand out just like the aggressive tone of the exhaust.

In my case, with the A10, I am currently using the range device (stays in V8), would I still need valve simulators? I would think the range device would serve as the "tune"
I do plan on a real tune for the future though.

I have read from others on the forum about removing the stock suitcase creating a parachute/turbulences. Just curious, how many people do we know of, removed their stock suitcase, then determined that it slowed their car down at the track, then re-installed the stock suitcase? I'm wondering because I want to remove it.

I would like to get an axleback right now. The track AWE interests me because it is light weight due to being just pipes, sound and cleans up that big mass with the stock suitcase. But the thing that's stopping me is I'm worried how bad it will sound after I put FULL exhaust on the car. Anyone know what FULL exhaust sounds like with the AWE track axleback?
Hey Joe, come and listen to my Borlas with full factory exhaust. Its pretty loud and I would think with headers and no cats or just 2 high flow cats, it would be very loud. Also let me show you a easy fix for the questionable turbulence. Remember, my car traps at 123.6 mph

I have to side with the headers and h/f cats to the stock NPP. No matter how many videos I watch and cars I see at shows with the catbacks I just can't see the need for the cost. I ride around with my back seat down to most of the time anyway and I think it sounds perfect to me.

The Range Technology AFM Disabler prevents the Active Fuel Management system (AFM) from dropping cylinders keeping all 8 cylinders in your engine on at all times. It doesn't control the AFM valves located in your exhaust piping. You would still need to get some AFM valve simulator plates or a tune if you do get a Cat-Back exhaust for your Auto SS.
You can also get an exhaust that comes with AFM valves in the mid-pipes instead, these are typically ones that are labelled for 6th gen Auto SS Camaros like the Stainless Works Redline Cat-Back Exhaust for 6th gen SS Auto Camaros. Borla does produce their 2.75" X-Pipe W/AFM Valves for 6th Gen Auto SS Camaros. This isn't designed for the factory mufflers, you would pair Borla's X-Pipe with one of Borla's Axle-Backs for your Camaro making your own Borla Cat-Back for your vehicle. If you go this Borla route then no tune or AFM valve simulators won't be necessary.

This car is getting full exhaust like all my past cars. That's a given. I was thinking the AWE track with headers and high flow cats. The ol 4th gen had ARH gutted cats lol. I'm looking for a little less gas smell this time around
The AWE track with that setup should be loud enough

On my last SS, I had the AWE touring, which I chose in part because I felt it was the deepest tone at idle. Had planned on that system again, but I gotta say that Solo system sounds pretty darn good! Price doesn't hurt either! What does "tuning" that J pipe really do???

The J pipe gets rid of any drone which is very common on a lot of aftermarket exhausts.

I lost the dual mode functionality but I found that it is actually low and mild until you step on the gas.

There are louder exhausts but I love the Solo sound.
