I had a Cherokee that used to do what you’re describing when it start d to get low on transmission fluid. That was when I knew it was time to add more.

Although that vehicle was 8 years old and had 240k miles on it. I wouldn’t think yours should be leaking now. That would be pretty obvious if it was.

Best of luck on figuring it out.

My first thought too.

It's probably low pressure in the trans that could definitely be just low fluid level.

Check fluid level

Fluid full - still does it?

Tranny comes out for inspection. Might flush it first

could also be a clogged transmission filter.. but that usually means bad things are happening in there. Get it to the dealer or reputable transmission mechanic.

UPDATE

Went to the dealer and as I expected they could not reproduce the issue. No codes etc. They did tell me the * speed transmission "learns" your driving habits and adjusts shift points. Not sure how true it is. When I drove my daughters car to the dealer I did not have any issues with the throttle but did notice the trans shifted from 1st to 2nd almost instantly at like 5 mph. She only drives 2 miles each way to wind home so maybe there is some truth to what the dealer said. I drove on two major highways and stretched her legs a little. It could all be in my head but the trans seems to shift better the more I drove it. Thanks for the help everyone
