Not a chance. I've had 2 black vehicles in my life & that was more than enough me. Never ever again, and I used to detail cars for a living. They're dirty 45 seconds after you get done cleaning them. If you enjoy the frustration though more power to you.

I had a black 99 SS and it looked great just after a wash. After that, even after few miles of driving, you could see the dust. But I think it's the best color for a car.

The only other color I would have considered would have been ABM, but I obviously waited a couple of years too long.

Yes, a black car is a lot of work but I would not have it any other way. You can't beat the look of a clean black car.

I have plenty of help keeping it clean. Would not have minded getting another color but black was ALWAYS my first choice.

I didn't even know they came in colors other than black!!
A couple coats of sealant and wax and they are actually a little easier to keep clean. I wouldn't buy anything other than black well maybe I'd get black!

No, I would not buy a black one, hence why I ended up with a white 2LS... When I went too the dealership there was a Black 1LS (manual), and a White 2LS (auto)... I drove both, and actually liked the auto better...
Went home that night before I finalized the deal and found out the 2LS was a POS and was considering getting the black 1LS... but it was black... Went back and was looking through the dealer lot and saw what appeared to be a CGM 1LS that I hadn't driven and got excited... But upon closer inspection, it was just the black one that I had driven previously with dust on it... That sealed the deal on the white one. |

Traded my SIM for the CRT, miss the cleanliness of the SIM, but love the CRT, just have to wash her more often. Needless to say, the CRT shows the shine more. Personally would never own another black car again. Too much work.

Fixed that for ya but to answer the original question, I would absolutely go black again. I've owed just about every color of car, and each one has it's drawbacks. White hides scratches and daily dust, but looks like an eyesore in the summer from the bugs. and those can be a bigger PITA to get off than swirls. red looks great and also hides light dirt, but looks like ass when it starts to age and fade. especially bumpers and trim. darker shakes like blue and dark grey show swirls just about as bad as back (only marginally better IMO). and lighter greys and tans (I know, camaro doesn't come in it) just don't "pop" enough for me. I've never had to spend any appreciable extra amount of time cleaning my camaro than any other car I've owned |
