I may join in on this. I live in NC so this isn't out of my way much at all! If any of you haven't been on the Dragon you're gonna love it! I've been there 3 or 4 times and never gets old.

Join us! It'll be a blast! Also, would be great to have others that have been here before, I think only one confirmed that has knowledge of the area.

I've been there 4 or 5 times on My Bike. They really accommodate bikers down there. Even the restaurants have special under cover places for bikes to park with seats to take your gear off.
But after being there on a bike I really have no desire to go in a car. I just don't think it would be near as much fun.

I found it to be a blast. Another point is that Moonshiner 28 is a really cool run. At times, you will pass through places where you think you should see Junior Johnson loading up his black Ford. Lots of great places along the river for pictures and even more for enjoying the driving.

The run down from Highlands has its own special allure, too.

Finally made my reservation at the Dragon Inn! (Took me long enough.) Debating on where to stay Monday night. Wife's going to be flying back home on Tuesday so need to see where she's going to be flying out from.
Is it July yet?

Awesome! A couple of us have reservations Monday night at The Dillard House as that'll be the end of our route on Monday. Link on the itinerary on the original post.

This will depend entirely on my summer vacation bid at work. I already got pre-approved for the prior week to make it to CamaroFest 7 so we'll see but I always wanted to do this.

There are not only photographers on The Tail, but also on 28. That being stated, there should be some opportunities for some great photos of our group. I'll have my optics bag (cameras, lenses and binoculars - the plural is correct). I know on the drive down from Highlands, there are some fabulous pull-offs with super views. Good place for group pictures.

Anyone else excited?

I live on long island/NYC. I've been hearing about the tail of the dragon for the longest time. I'm into bikes so i hear it from that crowd. I also had a volvo a few years back and they would do volvo specific trips for this road/event. I see almost every car brand/enthusiast group does a trip here. Anyone from New York ever go here? Its a long way away yeah? I keep telling myself, ONE DAY i will do it. I just have to. But i'm interested to know if anyone from my area ever did it or does it? How is the trip

Are you coming down for CamaroFest? If so you'll be roughly in the area. There's a small group coming out of New England you could tag along with I think.
