How to make the rear window roll down?
OK, Yes I know the rear window doesn't roll down (due to government roll-over standards, costs, legalities, blah, blah, blah).
However, I love the look of a geniune hardtop. http://www.1969sscamaro.com/wp-conte...ge1%20(29).jpg Hopefully, a brilliant person here will figure out a way for people to remove the b pillar and create rear windows that roll down to achieve a true hardtop look. Otherwise the only other option is to wait for the vert which is exempt and will have rear windows that roll down, power no less, grrrrr |

Man, that would take some serious ingenuity and fabrication.

I'm sure if you do use parts from the vert and a little cutting here and there it could be done.

Oh, goody, I can hardly wait to see a swaybacked Camaro, with the B-Pillar cut out.
You could name the car Mr. Ed!

I have to wonder what that does to crash protection and structural integrity. That whole area is part of the door aperture, since it's stamped out of one sheet of metal. That glass may contribute, a bit, to the strength of that panel too.
JMHO.

Replace it with ballistic glass. That should provide the needed strength

I guarantold you that if you take your new Maro to Monster Garage or Hot Rods by Boyd, it WOULD get done. Sad though that Boyd's no longer with us. He brought flair to anything he touched.
I really like the thought of the little window rolling down like the old school Camaros. It just looks cool and it's functional too. If anybody has the cahonies to make the 5th gen look like this, they will be the coolest kid in school.......bar none!

I am on this bandwagon. If i had the money for a 5th gen id probably be willing to spend a couple grand 'fixing' this. Its my #1 gripe with the car. The size of the b-pillar makes that window practically useless from the drivers position, and the lack of roll downs completely ruins the cruising experience for anyone in the back seat.
