It's fun speculating though......

The SS would in the low 12s in stock form. Our v6s pull nicely as well as cruise at highway speed at 17 or 18k rpm. A 4 cyl I suspect would would require hi rpm and buzz with lots of unecesary shifting!!
Not with a turbocharger. You'd have peak torque available at early RPMs, persisting through most of the engine's power band.

The 5.3 DFI will produce about 420hp in stock form. There will be an optional 3.6 twin turbo option producing 400hp.
I think if they go with a DI 5.3L V8, then it will produce more than 420 hp. The 5.0L coyote engine without direct injection right now is capable of 420 hp. A direct injected 5.3L v8 should be capable of more than that. It should at least pull off 450 hp, but I think it will produce more. I am not sure if it will reach 500 hp, but 470 and 480 should be possible. It will depend on how much CARB fuel economy regulations will cut into power output.

Not unless it goes DOHC as well.

My guess is the GenV used in the Camaro/Corvette will be bigger than 5.3L if it stays 2 valves/cyl.
