If you have plans for FI in the near future, i'd probably go with the 3.45 rear gear. That way you won't have to swap back when you add it. Still should be a nice upgrade to what you're running now. If you're going to track it a lot, i'd go higher. I know Grocerygetter is running 3.70 with a vortech and first gear is pretty much worthless. Second isn't a whole lot better.

^ Everyone offers the cheaper price bc they too get them from gm. I'd stay with the stock gear (and I did) Saves money. Get a 3400 stall and call it.

Your setup will determine if 3:91s are needed.
In my car (bolt ons + 3200 stall), I have no need for 3:91s. My car is already a handful trying to get traction on the street with 305 series drag radials. I wouldn't consider 3:91s unless your cammed and need the extra torque down low. Otherwise its just overkill and will cause traction issues and extra shifts down the track. I know several L99 owneres that took out their aggressive gears (returned to stock) and now they run faster times at the track. |

I would agree that 3.91's are more for cammed auto cars. They would not be the most ideal gears for a bolt on only car with a single disk converter or FI due to traction issues and a shift into 5th which is no bueno. With the right converter, cam and tires they look to be a great gear as evidence from Rhino's set up shows it.

This.
I know Ryan is hitting high 6k if not 7k, in 4th, as he crosses the line. If you don't raise your limiter that high, you'll be shifting into 5th just before the line.
