NA Direct injection engines do generally not require 91 Octane. Just look at the Camaros V6---11.3:1---regular is all thats needed.

Given the weight desparity--it should be a bit quicker then the Camaro SS. Still won't be as good looking though!

The only problem I have with this is that we're comparing a new car (that we have seen no information besides the engine) against an existing car. Kind of a weird way to compare, I'd say.

I'd say it'd be more fitting to compare 2011 to 2011, but we have no information on either car really.

However, if things stay the same in the Camaro and the weight stays the same in the Mustang than the Mustang will definitely be quicker.

true, but do you honestly think gm will change the camaro in 2011? they dont really have the money to do so, and the current one will sell enough

No idea to be honest. The Camaro gets 3.73 gears in 2011 so that should help at least.

We can't try and compare using made up information though. The real comparison will be when we get numbers for both of 'em. However, I'm not dogging the Mustang as the Coyote engine sounds awesome. I'm just saying don't count it the winner before you even see the competition.

Yeah I didn't mean you had picked a winner, I just meant in general.

Yep, competition means car manufacturers have to innovate! Same thing happened with Intel and AMD.

I have a pro to add to the Camaro.

It's a Chevy.

I have a con to add to the Mustang.

It's made by Ford.

I think the stang will, just because most people buying cars these days are kids(or their parents)...and kids..well...kids will be kids. So they'll go for what they think is cool, and the Mustang is errywhere. I'd like Camaros to start making a scene though, because the first girl I saw in one, I'd run down and marry...

I would like to see the GT500KR come with the new BOSS 500 engine! That would be cool but I would imagine it would exceed $100K FOR COST!

BTW! Did you know that Ford stole the King of The Road (KR) badging from Chevy back in the late 60s... just a little trivia I heard on HOTROD and Horsepower TV shows!
