12.1 Stock last night details from a rookie
After my first three passes track was done.
Wheel spin was getting me 1.89 1.9x 60s I am new to this. My method was to mash the pedal at the 3rd amber light. No braking and revving or launch control tonight. 20#s in the stock tires. No weight reduction. I even left my kids car seats and air compressor in the car. I have a gopro vid of the first run of side view of the mustang who failed at launch. I just need to upload it somewhere, Its not a cool vid as it's side view, but I wanted to see the other cars I lined up with. It's mounted to my drivers side window. Car hooked, had just a second of wheel spin instead of an eternity. I did burnouts that had smoke come all the way to the front of the car, not just lightly smoke the tires in the rear view but make the smoke flow out the wheel wells and come to the front of the car. At a complete standstill. When I did burnouts the finished with a roll, the car did worse. Standing still completely doing a burnout and letting the car stop burning out and standing still was the best method for me. I was first inline at the gate, first in line at tech inspection, and my buddy in the 5.0 2016 was there too. He has Manual e85, tune, corsa extreme. And body mods which I like. Not a mustang fan, but his is nice. He was the 21.9 left car. His launch control failed him or he did it wrong at the line. A member was there, I don't recall his member name, Dan or Dave something like that, he drives a black SS with a rotofab/dry. He coudln't get his car to hook. |

Really nice job.
Did you know your 12.1 is better than lethal performance 18 GT auto on a drag radial from just a few days before? And they had ~1000 DA to your 1700. Great work man way to represent https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=i1M6gGE-ksU |

Tires looked like some drag rads like you said. Didn’t see a time slip. But he didn’t seem to spin on the launch. Didn’t seem to punch the gas either. Or maybe that’s the way they take off. I’ve heard or read the 18 GTs are better then the 6th gen SS in the 1/4. At least at PBIR that one guy wasn’t faster than I. Nice they were so close in dates. Thanks for pointing that out. |

They mph a bit more. They do not get off the line as hard. It is not faster than the SS at this point until someone proves otherwise. |

18 GTs with PP & Auto seems really quick, based on several youtube videos of them running at the strip already. A lot of low 12s to 12 flat times. Sure, we've all seen them for stock Camaros too. In my books, the two cars are at least dead heat. |

Solid pass jw.
I think it's pretty safe to say that you would have an 11 second timeslip with better DA, your 60' time is really good on stock rubber too. Congrats.

Off
I push the TC button twice to enter the competition mode or whatever it is. Turns stabil track off as well. Rip a burnout that runs smoke To the front of the car. Usually only Get into 2nd gear. Like 5-10 seconds. Never counted. And I use track mode. Idk if it gives me a bit more then sport or not. |

When I took off and I car moved forward with the slightest bit of wheel spin I knew I had a good run. Considering the DA and track I go to I wanted a 12.3 cuz that’s what Chevy claims. Saw the 12.1 and it felt so good. I’m sure you know the feeling since you got to your goal I presume if 10sec with minimal additions and a swap. I read some of your posts. Hell of a job. You plan on more stuff? |

I plan on it when we get some negative DA Ive never ran in the "cold" weather. Probably need a bit longer burnout. Only way is to find out. |

A friend of mine with a stock 6th gen runs at our local 1/8th mile strip. He consistently ran 7.8X in his stock Camaro SS A8 with 60' times in the mid to high 1.7X range.
He was coming to the strip as well with stuff inside the car, and over a 1/2 tank of gas. He came with 1/4 tank (each gallon of gas weighs 6 lbs.) and removed all the excess stuff from the inside and the trunk. Every 100 lbs. less will equal a solid tenth. He removed around 40-50lbs total. We also changed the pressure in his tires, starting at 22 and going down. PSI will go up about 2lbs after a burnout, and 18 psi cold gave him the best 60'. He was also driving through the water box, and on street tires, this will drag water from the front tires up to the line, which will cause wheel spin. So instead he just drove around it, backed up to the damp (not wet) part, and did the burnout there. After changing all these things, he ran a 7.74 1/8th which would be 12.0X in the 1/4, this was in 1000 DA air, so in better air, an 11.9X is definitely possible. Best of luck to you and nice pass.

Congrats! I've been doing this off and on for 22 years, still haven't gotten mine to the track with 12k miles on it! I'd be stoked to run a 12.1 with a stick, which I plan to make happen. Even if I do like the Stang guys and remove the passenger and rear seats and everything in the trunk. (j/k).
