Is the 5th gen a turd?

Hi everyone,

I have been very happy with my Camaro, love everything about, especially the power.

However, I follow a few LSX vs MOD Motors groups on facebook (particular, Late Model Mayhem: LSX vs Modular), and everyone seems to make fun of the 5th gen, calling it a slow turd, compared to other cars like 04-06 GTO, 4th gen LS1 cars, 2011+ Coyote Mustangs, etc.

I don't think I've seen a single vehicle made fun of anymore than the 5th gen Camaro on that website.

Can someone give me some insight as to why people think we drive slow turds

Thank you

And also, stay off those dumb sites.

If they feel the 5th gen is a turd that's funny I think the Z/28 turd won a few events. I think the 1LE turd was good enough to have fun around the track.

If you base your life around what others think or say then is it really your life.

It's because it is a turd off the line compared to other cars which weigh less. It's only lighter than the Challenger and Charger. So they're actually "turdier" unless you've got the 392 hemi.

Having the Vert myself, I can say that off the line, I was very displeased with my car and it has to do with the weight. The 3.91 gears have helped but it still feels heavy.

But I would imagine they are exhibiting jealousy mainly.

LS1 GOATs are slow as hell, LS1 catfish Camaros are respectable for their time stock for stock, and LS3 vs 5.0 is a drivers race stock for stock in most cases.

LS2 GTO's are pretty quick but that comes with a very sloppy stock rear end that will wheel hop till the diff grenades.

I'd say 5th gens are the best all around cars barring visibility.
