A new different recall?

1 out of every 10 posts on here seem to be about the key fob recall. I get that. I'm keeping my fobs. I have not received a recall letter about it anyways.

HOWEVER...
Today I received a recall letter for a bolt on the seat that they said can fail causing your seat to fall while you are driving. Has anyone else received this recall? It says they don't have any parts to do the recall yet, so they're just letting me know that I need to have it done when they get parts in.

That is an old recall I believe only for 2010-2011 models
You will get the letter for the fob later, if you take it in for the seat they may try to change the fob even if you tell them you don't want it. GM pays them for it whether you authorized it or not so they want the $$$

I haven't received the letter, but I had read about it.
I want to keep my key fob, however, I checked with my Insurance Adjuster and she said if it isn't done, then they could and most likely would deny payment (not in a mean way). Which I understand.

If the accident is completely unrelated to the key issue (or the seat issue) then the insurance company has no basis on which to deny your claim.

I got the seat bolt recall today too.... You would think that they would send the notices when the parts are available.

Exactly. I think people tend to read too much in to these things. Unless your accident is caused by the key fob, your insurance isn't going to deny coverage. If they say they will regardless... I'd shop for a better insurance coverage.

I just received the "seat bolt" recall notice yesterday, as well.
