I have been hearing people who install the 2" have been melting the plug wires. Can someone confirm this? if so, what is the work around? I know there is boot/heat protectors, but some have been melting them too?

i just installed 2in TSP and the second primary is very close on both sides. i have the wire socks on mine but had the same clearance on my TBSS with socks and melted the stock wires.

They might be okay, but im thinking i rather be safe now then wait for the issue. i haven't ran the car long enough to have a problem but I will be getting MSD wires.

I've been running the 1 7/8 headers with the stock sparkplugs. I can't remember which side but one of the spark plug boots will touch one of the headers causing it to melt a bit. However it doesn't melt completely through. I just wrapped the actual wires to play it safe. I've had them like that for about 16,xxx miles or so and still no issues.

Two things to look out for, 1) USE the steering shaft bolt that TSP provides and 2) be careful with the wiring harness on the on the passenger side. At least I think it was the passenger side. It will touch the headers which caused me some other issues.

Other then that I love the TSP headers. I received them within a few days and they sound great. Best bang for your buck. Good look with the install!

I ran the harness up and over the reservoir. also, the bolt they provided me still hits. the threads are too long. I had to cut it down! I have the 2". I was so impressed with how easy they installed. I did have the tranny cross member unbolted for the hurst install simultaneously which may have made it easier. I would recommend doing that if anyone is having trouble with the passenger side. its super easy to unbolt.

Any pictures of under car install? Did you feed them from the top or bottom when installing?

So i too have the 1 7/8 in headers along with 3 in xpipe. kept factory exhaust but had the tips powdercoated black. best decision i've made. was a pain keeping the chrome clean. I still have the rubbing issue only turning to the right. I'm reaching out to see what type of bolt is needed. my performance shop never received a bolt or 2 in the packaging when shipped. hoping this will correct the only issue i'm having with my baby.

Just had the TSP 1 7/8ths put on, got them ceramic coated, I also used the supplied steering bolt.
0 rubbing issues. Plenty of clearance on both sides.
i'm not sure if there's a difference in the motor mounts used on the '18s. That's the only thing I'd imagine that would give me so much clearance

I keep hearing about the steering bolt rubbing issue, my Texas speed headers came with the silver bolt and a smaller black bolt, after install it looks like this, did I use the right bolt? Because I don't see how this could ever hit the headers especially since the bolt barely passes the column

zero clearance issues here with the supplied button bolt.
I drove around with em on for ~500 miles with lots of full lock turns, put the car on a lift and gave the headers a look over.
I couldn't find any evidence of rubbing or scratches on my ceramic coating.

There may be a cradle misalignment. I have a set of 19s that have the same exact offsets, however one side pokes about .5 inches more that the other. Had the alignment checked twice and it's perfect. This was also an issue with GTOs.
