are these good specs for a dd?? i know it's probably a little on the bigger side.. any idea of what lower rpm power would look like compared to stock? say 2500 rpm..

I have 229/236 615? On 112lsa. Its a Texas Speed cam. It comes around 3500 and pulls really hard to the limiter. Low speed driving is slightly affected but its easy to drive around, you will get used to it quickly. But 6th on the fwy is fine, it will cruise at pretty much any reasonable speed in 6th. I usually sit around 2000 and its fine.

My cam specs are a little bigger then the one listed. I had no low end losses at all, all gains, a lot has to do with the tune though.

I did a custom grind to my specs from cam motion. 229/238 604/604 113+3. Usable power was important to me, peak power at 7k is useless in these heavy cars in my opinion unless you just want a dyno number.

I always recommend staying below 227* or so intake duration for the street.

Im not a big cam fan. 227-228 intake duration is the break over point on power by what Ive seen. Once you pass that point total power gains slow down and driveability starts to suffer.

Yes on the ls3 I like to keep the intake lobe less then 230, on a smaller bore engine I go just a drop smaller.

So you rate this cam too big?

I guess that's a good safe recommendation, but I find my cam perfectly streetable. That being said, I also don't sit in stop/go rush hour traffic hardly ever. To each his own, and maybe drivability is different on an automatic.

I thought it was to much overlap/intake revision that kills drive-ability .
