First Stock Tire 2016 Camaro in the 11s?

Great day at South Georgia Motor Sports Park. With 1,500 miles on the odometer, I broke into the 11s on the second of six street tire runs. The best was an 11.905 run at 117.69 mph with a 1.757 60 foot. The car is 100% bone stock, no mods of any kind and the same street tires it came with on all four corners. SGMP Track scale weight was 3,682# w/o driver and with 1/2 tank of gas. This time I removed the fire extinguisher, tow hook (it's heavy) and the floor mats.

The switch to MT DRs and skinnys took about 30 mins and it easily hit elevens three out three runs. Best run was an 11.778 at 118.21 mph and a 1.703 60 foot. SGMP Track scale weight was 3,625# w/o driver.

Time slips will be posted on the fast list thread later today.

Haven't heard anyone else do this feat, so my bet is that you are the first! Congrats!

Also, after break in, I'll be trying to do the same. What tire pressures and launch RPM did you use?

Street tire runs: 45psi front, 20psi rear; track mode with TC off; about 1200rpm load then steady pressure (quickly) to full acceleration. It is tricky - If you give it too much throttle too quickly, it will spin or wheel hop. Did a 10sec burnout and got tires hot.

DRs/Skinny runs: 45psi front, 18psi rear; track mode with TC off; idle and then put it to the floor as fast as possible; DRs had no problem holding and it never broke loose. Did a cleanup burnout, then staged and ran.

Are you cooling it between runs or hot lapping? if your cooling it, natural air cooling or running cold water through it?

Congrats awesome times. 11s bone stock and 11:70s with DRs. I wish I could jump into the frey right now with an automatic car but have too much $$$ wrapped into a business venture at the moment, hopefully soon though. Any pictures or video?

I did not intentionally cool it down. In fact, I never opened the hood at the track. Most runs were less than 10 mins apart. The last two DR runs were 7 mins apart and the second run was the best ET and MPH. It seems to like it hot vs my ZL1 that liked it cold with long cool downs.

So far, it looks like it will make a fun and solid 11.9 - 12.0 (depending on weather) weekend bracket car with the DRs. It will run 11.7s but DA and temperature will need to be right. I suspect there is another 2 tenths in the DR combination. I did not play with tire pressure at all and there is more from that alone.

You don't really need the skinnys for consistency but I had them so put them on. It was super consistent on the three DR runs in both 60ft and ET. No need for traction control with the DRs. No one knows how it's going to hold up but I'm definately going to beef up some of rear end parts as soon as someone has something built and tested.
