really believe that a stock Gen6 2.0T, will also run 13.9s, right off the showroom floor. Lightly modded, my Gen4 with shorty headers, a cat-back, LS6 intake, SLP cold air intake system, & an under drive crank pulley, ran 12.8s all the time, with stock GSC Goodyears. And a lightly modded Gen6 2.0T , with a good E47 Ethanol tune, an air intake, & drag radials, will probably do the same... |

Yeah, in top speed runs but not for acceleration. AWD helps launch the car with minimal wheel spin.

2.0 M6/A6 ATS's are running mid to low 14's, and they weigh about 3400 lbs. If anything that would be a better metric to go by. Hopefully the A8 can get it into the 13s.

Love the debate. That's progress...this wouldn't have happened in prior generations.
All I'm stating is that if given the same track, conditions and time that a stock LS1 F-Body will out accelerate with a better ET and trap speed than a 6th Gen Turbo4 or V6 Camaro in 1/4 mile.. I'll add 4th Gen LT1's in there too. Prove me wrong.. And we all win! |

You plan on being impressed with the Gen6 T4 but are trying to scale it's performance to running 13.9 in an A4 LS1? |

As long as there is more power than grip, the AWD car will have the advantage. But in a fairly heavy car with only 270 hp, its not going to take very long for 2 wheels to be able to handle all the power the engine makes. At that point, the extra weight and higher drivetrain losses work against the AWD car. In the CTS, I doubt the AWD system even helps it hit 60 mph quicker than RWD would -let alone in the full 1/4 mile.

Back in 97 when my LS1 Z28 auto, with 2.73 rear, went 13.9s, right out of the box, it was wonderful. And if someone back then, would've said that in the future, a 2016 Camaro, with a small 2.0 liter 4 banger, would do the same, right off the show room floor, I would've said that they were nuts, & on crack... And than, if they told me that some easy simple mods, a ZZP EFI 7163 turbo swap, with an E47 Ethanol tune, with slicks, would put it into the 11s, down the 1/4 mile, I would've had them committed... I agree with you though. No way the 4 banger is going to beat the times of a fbody LS1. But!, I think the v6 will be close. |

The aftermarket is working on it right now, especially ZZP performance, I bet. So you don't think, that the Camaro 2.0T, will run 13.9s, bone stock? My Gen4, 1998 Camaro LS1 Z28 automatic, w/ a 2.73 rear, could only run 13.9s, stock. I believe, that they would be dead even, at the track. Why buy a 1ss, when you can buy a 2.0, & save 10k, than use 4-5k of that savings, to put the 2.0T, into the 11s. Just another, cheaper option, to go fast... How much money would it take for the 2.0 to get there though? As much as it would be to buy the SS?
