I've gotten to used to the HUD in my 2LT. I don't think I could go back to not having one in another car. It's worth the extra 5K alone! :P

I feel the same way. The ONLY thing I want from the 2SS is the leather, could care less about all the other stuff.

I am going to go 1SS, and if I do not like the cloth I will get a Katskins leather kit, which is probably nicer then the GM leather anyway...

5th gen was putting hud in for a lot less.

Agree, HUD is the only thing missing from the 1SS for me. Leather can be added if really not liking the cloth. 5 Grand plus the options one would add to the 2ss put the price of the 2ss well north of 40,000, all on a depreciating asset.

1SS, add MRC and NPP and auto (if you wish) you are still south of 2SS base. Hopefully there will soon be a thread on adding HUD like on the 5th gen.

On a car that has less outward visibility to the rear than anything short of a Lambo those electronic assists for parking, blind spot, etc. are going to be a lifesaver, couldn't imagine getting an SS without them.

Those safety features are the reason I got the 2SS. Dealing with people in San Francisco is bad enough in a car with great visibility out the back.

Great thread... I'm really scratching my head over this!

I have a 14' 2SS w/ all the bells & whistles, but that $5k price hike of the gen6 + another $5k for 2SS!

This 6th gen costing me nearly $10k more than my brand new 14' 2SS! WTF GM?? :(

so yeah, do I lose the features that I'm used to having to keep my payments the same? or Drop an extra $5k cash on down payment?

'14 isn't brand new and you are comparing MSRP of first year model to the price you paid for your '14. Those are two very different prices.

I meant when I bought my brand new 14' 2SS Camaro refresh, in 2014. I've had it for over 2 years now.

So what do you pay for it? MSRP difference between a '15 1SS and '16 1SS was less than $3k (which was basically the difference in price of the RS packages which is now standard on a 1SS).

Right now, it's early adopter pricing. Deals won't be as good likely until the '17s start showing up on the lots. Then you could probably find some good discounts on '16s. Remember with the new 2SS, you really do get a lot more than the '15 2SS offered over the 1SS.

Yes the 16' 2SS offers about 5 or 6 extras vs prev gen. Would be sweet if they allowed us to pick/choose our options better. Like a 1SS w/ Leather, etc.

Might just go for a loaded 1SS & buy a aftermarket HUD lol
