top speed

I had heard that these things were governed at 155? This weekend curiosity got the best of me so out on a lonely Kansas road I may or may have not tested that theory. 140 tops? May have been a little disappointed. Is anyone else shocked by this?

I have had mine to 142 before I let off.

I think I have something going on. I have been suspecting something for a week or so now, just does not sound right. Sounds fine at idle but under throttle it just does not sound right. I suspect an exhaust leak. The guy who had the car before had shorty headers on it and he changed them back to stock manifolds when he traded it in.

GPS verified at 155 . I bet the limit could be raised by EFILIVE.

I ran mine to 155mph and a "speed limited to 155mph" message popped up. My 1LE is all stock and it pulled strong all the way to the limiter.

Makes me wonder if OnStar has a trigger that will report any speed over 100mph . I know they can do it ,but the question is ARE THEY ? We have GPS trackers on the vehicles at the lot and they track and report the location ,location history speed and speed history from day one.

I was wondering that. Is 6th an overdrive gear? I had someone tell me that you will not get your top speed in the over drive gear but in this case 5th gear.

My understanding is ,both 5th and 6th are overdrives and 4th is 1 to 1 . But WTF do I know .

You know the same as the rest of us! It's only through our arguing and calling each other stupid that we know anything.
