I bought mine from Ebay too. I have two set's of tires and rims, and when i change i have to have the sensors reprogrammed each time.

Yes, you need the learning tool. Its about $80. Once you get it, you'll just push the reset button when DIC is displaying TPMS, and it will then ask if you would like to start learning process. Once in, you'll start from LF and make a circle (RF, RR, LR) around your car until 2-honk is heard, signaling the end of the program. You will just need to get the antenna close to the TPMS sensor (I make it touch the tire) and keep it there until it honks.

No I'm sure they aren't. I got to thinking the vehicle that a friend used to bring my old tires and wheels home from the shop had three of them on the back and one up front. And the one that was closest in the back to me as he drove off was the last one that my dic went to -- on.
I keep expecting to go out in the morning and have them all showing a psi reading because my old tires and wheels are in my garage. About 5 feet awAy from my car.

The outfit that mounted your new tires can and should have "relearned" the new TPMS. Since I bought a complete wheel/tire package from Rudy at TR, I went ahead and sprung for the $80 tool so that I could DIY and be completely independent of the tire shop. I am very, very pleased with the result.
BTW, my car takes two starts to realize the TPMS has been changed and go blank. Enjoy your winters. Once you've experienced a winter season on them, you'll never be without. Put a set on your wife's car while you're at it.

Don't waste time or money having the dealer do it or buying the tool, the above method works perfectly and only takes a few minutes. |

However, my TPMS's in my winter setup also lose connection sometimes, but after few km's it will come back, all or a few, then all back. Then goes again. I don't really mind, just need to click the message away. Summer tires with OEM have no problems.

Like mentioned before, if you have a 2012 or newer you will DEFINITELY need a relearn tool. You can try and go through the before mentioned process through the instrument panel, but the vehicle will not recognize the sensors no matter what you do.
