On the v8 manual cars both 5th and 6th are od where the v6 manuals are just 6th for od.

Been a minute since I have scene the ratios on the autos but I believe both autos have two overdrives as well.

On my '14 2ss 1le I get the message at 155 that the top speed is limited.... Well I just dropped it off at New Era Performance yesterday so next time I get to 155 it won't say that

3.91 final works well with the first OD. 6th is .5 and just needs a stiff tailwind to be effective on top end

I've been 163 in my 06 GTO before it governed out with mods and dyno tune. The tuner said he removed the speed limiter but it still topped out at exactly 163 every single time with plenty of rpm left no matter the wind conditions, etc. I took it back to the shop and they couldn't find where in the tune GM had hidden the speed limiter. That's the fastest I've been. I haven't topped my Camaro out yet but I do know that it will go faster than 140 in 4th gear. I don't even think you need 5th for 155. I'm assuming with a dynotune, you can go beyond 155. I know they can remove that damned first to forth shift for you.

Leave it in 4th. Watch Hennessey run 200 in a vette. He didn't shift out of 4th. 5th and 6th are definitely overdrive gears. 4th gear 1:1.

Could have been your drag limit. Couldn't overcome the wind and rolling resistance to go faster.

so if we can hit 155 in 6th and with a tune might be able to go a lil more the normal ss guys have been saying at top speed the 5.0 and ss will get us.. ive never seen it these 1le's pull all the way up with the 3.91's..

So far I've only hit 100mph... felt like about 75mph but just haven't had a chance to open it up good...
