My thoughts exactly!

I've had a couple Vettes, but I have 5 Camaros currently, and have had over twenty throughout my life, its just a car more suited for the enthusiast. IMHO

Watch these! Handling is incredible.

Different car than a zl1, so it's hard to compare in my opinion.

I'd definitely take the new C7 over a zl1 for a garage queen/weekend warrior.

BUT, the zl1 is unique because some people use it for a daily driver whereas the corvette isn't practical in that sense.

..and that's the catch. Multi discipline versus singular platform. The ZL1 can do whatever you want it to do. Tour, sport, track. The 'Vette probably is more narrower in what it will provide, as in kickin' arse and takin' names. I'd like to wheel it and see, if a dealer would let me. I believe it's all that and more.

One can't compare a Mountain Goat with a Pet Zoo Goat , they may look like the some family of goats
But when the Mother goat shows up , you better get your diapers close , they will get some skid marks

Was planning on getting a ZL-1. Hell, I had a few in my grasps. Glad I waited, and now have a Stingray on order. 465/460 on that car is gonna be a really good starting point. It's 1000 lbs lighter than a ZL-1, so the HP difference will be felt instead of perceived. Livernois has already tuned theirs to 431/429. Add an intake, headers, etc and probably close to 500. Slap a supercharger on there...and look out! ZLWHAT? Definitely not knocking the ZL-1...shit, I drive an SS now. I'll always love this 5th Gen Camaro. But, since I can afford a Stingray (good job, no kids, very low bills) I'm gonna do it. Had I never shown my wife the pics of the Vette, I'd be in a ZL-1 right now. I'll still go to Camaro meet ups, and hang with my social class of people. Camaro drivers!

OP, if you want a C7 you will have to get in back of a long line. A year from now they will be easier to come by.

ZL1 = Great all around GT car.
Corvette C7 = Great Sports car. (Although it is getting kind of chubby.)

I Love Camaro's and Corvette's. If I could physically get in and out of a Corvette I would have a Corvette. But I am totally happy with my Camaro.

Test drove a base no-options black C7 earlier this week... it's a blast (and easy) to drive, filled w/ high tech amenities, and looks even better in person. The base seats are perfect, hugs well. Love the rev matching and makes it so easy to shift, especially downshifting. Didn't pull the trigger (yet)... still undetermined on color & options to get plus still on an allocation waiting list. Many dealers are at MSRP but it's almost granted that by next summer or perhaps even before that, discounts are attainable. No rush for me but I do want one sooner or later... and I did think of upgrading from the SS to a ZL1 but the C7 is tempting. Decisions decisions...

It looks amazing and has tons of technology packed in, but to me the performance numbers do not seem much better if any than the grand sport it replaces. Zero to 60 times and quarter mile are nearly identical. I do know it will supposedly out handle the previous Vette, but what makes this car worth giving up a ZL1 for? I would just like to know your thoughts fellas, not bashing the Vette. So anyone having thoughts of swapping their Z for a V, let me know why.

I think it's a gorgeous machine and I may own it or a similar American machine in the next few months in addition to my ZL1. Don't think I could part with it for any similarly priced sports car right now. It's that amazing to me.
So it's not impressive but you are still thinking about getting it? But the ZL1 is amazing?

Stay put. No issue here really.

At MSRP , in the Bay Area the dealers are asking for $12960 Processing Options Fee , really , that has nothing to do with the Options on the car , that's on top of it
