From Supra to 1LE
Hello, just picked up a (new to me) 2SS 1LE with a couple thousand miles on it. I had been on the hunt for a wild cherry tintcoat or boost blue, so jumped when I had the chance. I had a couple 5th gen 1LE s and two 6th gen 2SS’s, but always missed my 2015 1LE. Absolutely in love with the car, got the windows tinted the day after I got it and am doing ppf/rock guards this month. Came out of a 2020 supra, which was awesome but it was my second automatic in 20 years and I couldn’t do it anymore. My dd is a 05 Accord v6 6 speed, so it was weird getting in my “fun” car and it was an automatic. Looking forward to being back with the group, thanks!

Congrats! What are your handling impressions vs the Supra so far?

I'm like you in that my last weekend car was an automatic too (BMW). I really enjoy a manual and missed not having it. So when I ordered my 1LE I made sure it was a manual. The Supra is a nice car too. I'd be interested to hear how you compare the two in terms of the driving experience and handling.

So I haven't driven the Camaro angry yet, but had autocross time in the Supra and they are the real deal. You can feel the weight in the camaro for sure, but I can also feel the massive tires out back as well. My supra was a 2020, I know they have made some improvements to the suspension through 2023, but every comparison I have seen between a 6th Gen 1LE and a 2020 GR Supra on the track, the 1LE dominates. 23 Supra has closed the gap quite a bit it looks like.

I have a 2003 Nissan Z that I used to autocross quite a bit. It has all kinds of suspension mods and is a great handling car. It's also considerably smaller than the Camaro. When I first drove the Camaro I thought there is no way it handles as good as my Z. I thought the same thing you did that the 1LE just wouldn't be able to corner as hard because of its weight, but it really does. The more you drive it the more comfortable it becomes.

Congrats! Really interested in your review after you drive the camaro hard. I have a deposit on a 2ss 1le that is waiting to be shipped but I was REALLY looking hard at ordering a Supra instead. If it wasn’t going to be difficult getting manual v8’s in the future I would have ordered the Supra because I wanted to try something different.

I drove my 5 gen 1le s hard, I know the 6th gen is a different animal but I say go with the camaro. Supra is great but it does everything almost too well. No drama, no real noise, auto (unless you want to pay 65k for a stick) takes all the guess work out of driving it.Z my drive home from the dealer ship I felt more engaged then almost the whole time I had with the Supra outside of the track.

Congratulations! That's an amazing looking color. Very close to the Red Obsession Tintcoat on my wife's CTS V-Sport.
