I think the rough ride is completely blown out of proportion here. Bunch of old dudes with spinal stenosis or something. LOL.
Agreed totally overhyped - if you took 90% of the people on a ride in each car as a passenger, back to back they would BARLEY be able to tell the difference. Driver perhaps a lil more

Really hard to imagine considering I can tell a HUGE difference in touring mode and track mode in the standard ZL1 and the 1LE is stiffer than the track mode.

Buy the ZL1 and wonder “what if” or buy the ZLE and know that you bought the best Camaro ever built.

I bought a ZL1 and don't wonder "what if" anything. I bought exactly what I wanted, I don't track my car so there was no regret, I love the adjustable suspension and I can drive it on the street anytime I want without wearing out the shocks.

LOL……I knew that would get your dander up. Just had to pick on you a bit, since you pick on the ZLE owners. Have a great weekend.

Hey buddy, its lumbar spondylosis to you! LOL. I'm getting the ZLE anyway. If the trouble it takes to get one of these things is any indication of value, mine will be worth a million dollars a year from now.

The ZLE is better if you track a lot. The camber adjustments let you save the front tires with more even wear. The DSSV shocks are likely a better match to constant track use. There is more adjustability in the suspension, ie ride height. The aero and 19" wheels are better.
I've always wanted to see track times between the two with same race compound rubber and suspension tweaks for the non LE. It's probably closer than many think. I doubt the aero has much (positive) impact on lap times

I'm not picking on anyone. What are you talking about? Do you have me confused with someone else?

I agree, I'm betting the tires make the most difference as they typically do. With the 1LE, all the upgrades add up but I don't think there's any question that a change of tires on the standard ZL1 will give you 95% of the same performance as the 1LE without any of the negative ride quality issues.

I suppose you would think it rides rough if your previous car was previously your grammas, but I've owned mine for two years and have never complained about the ride. I learned to drive in a '57 Chevy, so "rough ride" is a relative term.

What do you doubt? Rough is a relative term. What’s rough to you mite not be rough for a man that knows he is in a factory hot rod.

I'm all for stiff suspension until I have to deal with speed bumps, railroad crossings, construction, and potholes - the you really appreciate the mag ride

Another factor is solid bushings and stiff ride tends to contribute to interior squeaks and rattles that drive me nuts. GM cars aren't exactly known for their solid interiors

And yes if it's a track car you don't care about any of that, but most guys driving these on the street just love the big ass wing and cool looking aero (which slows you down in roll-ons and the stiff suspension reduces traction off the line)

The ZL1 is the Jack of all Trades and the Master of None.

The ZL1/1LE is the Master of One. Honest, no slop in suspension - it 'transmits' instead of gliding over pavement. It's sole mission is to give the driver every piece of information possible through the suspension to ensure confidence.

Pick your car based on your use case and pain tolerance.
